Job Details

JOB PURPOSE

The Vineland Distribution centre is primary point of distribution for all Burberry wholesale, retail and outlet stores in the United States and Canada. The purpose of the job is to ensure that products are conforming with the agreed quality standards and non-compliances are dealt with effectively to avoid delays and shipment of defective products to the customer.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Inspect finished merchandise ensuring the required Burberry standards are met (clock wise inspection followed).
  • Re-condition and/or re-process, when and where possible, all the products that fail inspection.
  • Inspect incoming damages from retail stores, assess the quality level, and record findings on a manual log sheet.
  • Accurately fill out and submit daily reports for all inspections and re-processing activities.
  • Take pictures of materials that fail inspection that will be shared with the vendor.
  • Take ownership of the Damage and Defectives program which includes inspection, entering inspection results, and hyperlinking photos into Excel.
  • Enter inspection results into an iPad, which will be used to create vendor inspection reports.
  • Use hand held pallet jack to move pallets and assist with physically moving stock in and out of the department.
  • Cross train in other supporting quality roles.
  • Help to train new employees/cross functional departments on quality levels of acceptability.
  • Ensure housekeeping is maintained daily.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


PERSONAL PROFILE

  • Excellent attention to details with strong follow through
  • Self-motivated, requiring little to no supervision
  • Results driven and takes accountability
  • Previous experience with reprocessing - hand or machine sewing, using steamers/irons, garment stain removal
  • Ability to read, write and speak English
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule /overtime as needed (before/after shift/weekends)
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs occasionally
  • Ability to work in hot and cold conditions
  • Knowledge of the apparel industry preferred
  • Knowledge of fabrics and textiles preferred
  • Experience working in a retail environment preferred
  • Experience with RF equipment preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word/Excel)
