APPARATUS is New York-based design studio that explores the relationship of lighting, furniture and objects in immersive environments, threading the historical and the cultural through a modern lens.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

  • Service international accounts and orders.
  • See orders through from quoting, invoicing, billing, order completion and delivery.
  • Provide follow-up care and problem solving as needed.
  • Provide assistance to the International Wholesale Account Manager.
  • Assist with outreach and research projects.
  • Set a high standard of warmth and professionalism in welcoming clients, vendors and colleagues. 
  • Provide phone support; assist callers with essential questions about the brand and product including brand history, collections, finishes, pricing, lead times.
  • Cultivate a deep understanding of requirements to best service a diverse international client base – including client expectations by territory, customs, duties, VAT, global electrical requirements, and differing terminology.
  • Consistently seek to assist the APPARATUS New York team with client needs and in developing and delivering solutions to maintain the highest level of client experience.
  • Develop deep understanding of brand and product assortment including our customization process.
  • Manage general opening and closing duties – preparing for showroom walk-throughs, lighting levels, object/furniture placement, incense burning.

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, independent drive and the ability to work under pressure and deliver projects under tight deadlines.
  • Strong aesthetic and presentation skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Proactive in seeking support and help when needed.
  • Ability to respond professionally to critical feedback.
  • Solutions-based thinker with a consistently positive attitude, displayed both within a team and as an individual.
  • Ability to utilize technology to create efficient workflows, including Excel, Salesforce, applicable CRM.

EXPERIENCE

  • Proven showroom, sales, or sales assistant experience or similar client-facing role.
  • Knowledge and interest in contemporary design.
  • Experience in a business that requires a team to execute the common vision, understands the value of the individual and the team.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively; ability to drive for results.
  • Proven ability in a high-paced environment that values consistency, efficiency and excellence.
  • Experience with CRM systems and Excel.
  • Experience with international sales and shipping helpful.

 

 

WORK SCHEDULE

  • Full-time showroom hours: Monday–Friday generally 10:00AM–6:00PM.
  • Longer hours and weekend availability as needed.

 

 

PERFORMANCE REVIEW AND CHECK-INS SCHEDULE

  • Monthly touch bases.
  • Annual performance review.
