ABOUT THE ROLE
As the Merchandise Planning Team Lead for the Women cluster in the Sports category, you will be accountable for defining the seasonal financial plan, developing and leading your team, as well as collaborating with our partners to deliver on the defined targets. You will develop strategies to drive growth of Sports on our platform via wholesale and Partner Program together with your buying counterpart.
WHERE YOUR EXPERTISE IS NEEDED
  • Lead a diverse team of Merchandise planners on different expertise levels. You recruit, develop and retain your team members, through coaching and empowering your senior managers to be strong leaders in their units.
  • Define and deliver financial plans and react to changing business opportunities and company expectations, to contribute to the revenue and strategy of the fast growing Zalando Sports department.
  • Work alongside your Buying Team Lead counterpart to develop the long-term strategy in your area and collaborate with your stakeholder network to drive cross-functional projects and platform strategies.
  • Cultivate a team culture that promotes open feedback and best practice sharing, you contribute to the Merchandise Planning community by setting standards, mentoring team members and defining future ways of working.
  • Shape and champion an inclusive culture and diverse team environment
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • A degree in Business or a comparable field. You are a business leader with 6+ years experience in Merchandise Planning or a commercially oriented analytical role.
  • You have steered end-to-end planning cycles, across diverse product areas, ideally at an eCommerce retailer and have worked with various merchandising software packages. You are comfortable with analysis and using Excel at an advanced level.
  • With an entrepreneurial mindset, you enjoy driving our growing Sports Women Cluster, demonstrating experience in developing and implementing new initiatives, processes and/or tools, to elevate your team and business unit.
  • Experienced in leading a larger team, providing direction, ensuring team health and motivation in a dynamic environment. You are able to collaborate with diverse stakeholders, using your communication skills to convey complex topics to a senior audience.
  • Solution-oriented and comfortable working in an ever-changing environment.
