Job Details

Job Purpose

To ensure the efficient and professional running of the Halfpenny London production studio and production timelines for in and out of house production. To maintain organised records of patterns, fabrics and technical packs. To have a comprehensive knowledge of the Halfpenny London standards, and ensure these are met through processes, quality of product, and professional conduct.

Key duties & responsibilities:

  • Run a well-organized and efficient Production department for all orders of Halfpenny London with a comprehensive knowledge of Zedonk.
  • To assist with new product development each season.
  • To assist with alterations and in house sewing around Production availability.

PRODUCTION

  • Run master production list of all orders from all clients to set your production time line.
  • Place monthly production orders with local and international manufacturers (book quantities in advance with manufacturers).
  • Check monthly production invoices against production order to ensure correct stock has been made and correct pricing has been charged.
  • Ensure production orders meet the set deadlines and quality control.
  • Quality control on monthly production orders, leading your assistant and any additional staff assisting.
  • Work in conjunction with Design and Atelier on beading/embroidery artwork approval and liaise with the manufacturers for correct specifications on each order.
  • Maintain sample book of differed techniques tested. Finishes and trims etc.
  • Maintain resource folders of all fabrics and components used for all styles. Using Zedonk.
  • Instigate factory visits, ensuring current manufacturers are performing to expectations.
  • Seek and asses new manufacturers to improve the profitability of the company through competitive pricing and quality of manufacturing.
  • Work with the technical drawer to ensure new samples are drawn up as early in the process as possible to input into the Technical Packs.
  • Oversee the Technical Packs of all products ensuring new packs are created by the pattern cutter in time for any production. Also making changes to existing packs as and when changes are made.
  • Manage fabric care label information for all styles. Ensure new labels are printed for new styles. Prepare patterns in advance for the pattern cutter to amend for monthly production run. Ensure all notes and sketches are available.

STOCK CONTROL

  • Manage stock levels of fabric, components, studio materials, paper and consumables.
  • Place fabric orders in line with budgets. Follow up on late deliveries.
  • Submit invoices for payment to MD.
  • Run quarterly stock take of raw materials and components. March, June, September and December.
  • Ensure fabrics that transition from initial samples into production are entered into Zedonk for the main ‘Bridal’ season.

FABRICS

  • Ensure all fabrics are correctly labeled with supplier name, fabric code, fabric width, price per metre, styles used in the fabric.
  • At the beginning of each design season, bring fabrics not yet used to design room and consult with the design team on what can be used.
  • Visit fabric/textile fairs with design team
  • Suggest fabric trends, techniques etc. during design period
  • Manage zedonk fabric codes
  • Manage pattern library document

NEW PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT

  • Work closely with Head of Atelier during development of new collection and assist in all workflow aspects from final sample to production.
  • Attend all fittings – take detailed notes and update technical documents and Zedonk with any and all material/trim changes.
  • Assist pattern cutter and Head of Atelier with product specs to handover to Production. Good product knowledge of all Halfpenny London collections.
  • Flag any production and quality issues throughout a style’s cycle and work together with Pattern Cutter and Atelier to find solutions.
  • Develop and standardize workmanship techniques for production.

TIMELINE

  • Manage tech packs and order of assembly
  • Assist with Halfpenny London events
