Safiyaa is a British luxury womenswear brand, founded by Daniela Karnuts, stocked by leading, luxury department stores such as Harvey Nichols, Net-a-Porter. The creative office is based in central London whilst the brand has its own sampling and production Atelier in Tottenham, where the developments and most manufacture is carried out to ensure precision and high quality. 

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced creative Pattern Cutter to join as a key team member of a fast growing high-end womenswear brand based in London.  You would be part of a high-powered, close knit team, where you would be given a lot of responsibility and opportunity to grow.  This is a full time prerferred position, however, minimum 3 days per week also could work.

Role / Responsibility:

  • Responsible for manually creating new season patterns from sketch and will be fully involved in the fitting
  • Working closely with designers to create patterns and prototypes and have creative input as and when required.
  • Responsible for production pattern alterations, private client fittings and bespoke patterns  
  • Follow critical path to make sure we meet the deadlines
  • Always following company standards but also work on improving these standards and blocks at all times.
  • Ensure patterns are as per the spec through accuracy and toiling
  • Work with the atelier team to support strategies to elevate the standard of working processes and outcomes, Coordinate with the team to deliver an efficient and effective work stream


Requirements:

  • Degree in pattern cutting or fashion design
  • A minimum 5 years' proven experience in womenswear pattern cutting (similar luxury brand is preferred) 
  • Fast and accurate within this fast fashion environment
  • A good eye for detail as well as a thorough understanding of shape and proportion
  • Professional English proficiency
  • Excellent communication skills to work effectively across team
  • Flexibility to undertake additional projects during busy times
  • Adept planning, prioritisation and organisational skills to ensure deadlines are met.


Extra skills appreciated:

  • Ability to operate Gerber
  • French or Turkish
