FIGS is hiring a Raw Material Intern to play an integral role in a fast-growing medical apparel company. This internship offers motivated students the opportunity to gain fashion industry experience and work with FIGS!

We are looking for someone who has a desire to learn, tackles projects with attention to detail and a creative approach, and inspires others with a positive can-do attitude. This position is for someone who wants to jump in headfirst to make an immediate impact and work in a collaborative team environment. The Raw Materials internship is a position that will immerse you in the fashion industry from a raw material perspective. The intern will be supporting the daily functions of the raw material team assisting with research, tracking, and filing fabric submits. This role provides an incredible opportunity to learn about fabrications, country of origin expertise, fiber analysis, and the art of cross functional communication.

We are looking for someone available for the next 5-6 weeks and able to work 30-40 hours a week.

Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain a fabric library of core/new fabrics in the office
  • Gather and organize all incoming fabric submissions
  • Work with the Fabric RD Director to create boards, build the overall layout and arrange the fabric cuttings / samples aesthetically for seasonal presentations.
  • Complete development sheets/send outgoing developments based on Fabric Director's allocation and brand strategy
  • Organize and maintain fabric development (WIP) and benchmarking tool.


Requirements
  • Rising junior or senior undergrad student with a declared major in Textiles/Textile Development, design, or related business area
  • Has a strong interest in garment construction and/or textile science
  • Previous relevant internship / work experience or demonstrated interest in the industry
  • Demonstrated academic leadership or extra-curricular activity preferred
  • A proactive attitude with an eagerness to pursue and execute more assignments while under pressure or during downtime
  • Ability to build strong relationships & maintain alignment with internal & external, cross functional partners
  • Agile and Flexible- our pace and process is fast and every changing, must be able to manage multiple projects and problems under time pressure
  • Proactive self-starter
  • Strong digital skill set and solid experience in Excel, Illustrator, and Adobe Photoshop
  • Data oriented with the ability to think outside the box
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
