As Shoe Designer you will play a pivotal role in Reformation’s growth and success through the research, design, development and execution of shoes.  The designer will work closely with Merchant and Concept teams to identify key trends and translate them into the season’s must-have styles that will excite and delight the Ref customer.

What you’ll do:

• Interpret trends based on initial direction from Concept into designs relevant to the Ref customer 
• Conduct marketplace, runway and influencer research to inform product direction and equipment library developments
• Work with Merchant & Concept to create seasonal color palette and select standards 
• Partner with Supply chain, Sustainability and factory/agent to research, source and select new materials with sustainability innovation in mind 
• Work closely with Merchant team to understand sales and suggest “chase” styles to iterate on top-selling products 
• Liaise with supply chain and factories to communicate design intention prior to pass-off and in season
• Lead fit sessions, diarize corrections and oversee proto developments ensuring the highest level of fit, quality and execution 
• Ensure Design deadlines are adhered to in accordance with Development Calendar 
• Manage administrative design functions TP, color-ups and BOMS

What you’ll need:

• Bachelor's degree in Design 
• 5+ years of experience in footwear design and development 
• Strong understanding of footwear construction and materials 
• Ability to create thorough tech packs with sketches, complete construction details, and provide mock-ups if needed
• Design portfolio showcasing your work
• 2+ examples of Tech packs
