This position partners with department leadership to maintain superior management of the Chico's Workers Compensation program. Responsible for the management of workers compensation claims to affect a resolution of each claim that is compatible with the goals of the organization and the business unit and that returns the injured associate to work at the earliest possible time. Provides technical support to the business units and monitors activity of Third Party Administrators (TPAs).

Provides technical support to the business units and monitors activity of Third Party Administrators (TPAs).
FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serves as Workers compensation claims resource to corporate and business unit management and supervisory personnel.
- Monitors workers compensation claims, including close supervision of large and/or severe cases.
- Consults with attorneys, adjusters and carriers regarding claims or claims services.
- Assesses the reserve practices of claims administrator.
- Settles claims within the authority level and prepares reports to seek higher settlement authority.
- Implements and/or supports corporate-wide return to work/transitional duty programs.
- Conducts periodic claims review audits to evaluate and direct TPA performance.
- Analyzes claim trends to develop recommendations for improved safety and claims management efforts.
- Maintains current knowledge of industry information and trends and makes recommendations for process changes to ensure best practices.
- Prepares reports to corporate and business unit management regarding workers compensation claims, including large and/or severe cases.
- Develops and maintains a worker's compensation claims procedures manual for business unit supervisors and other internal claims processors.
- Consults with Claims Manager and TPA to develop customized claims handling procedures.
- Assists in developing quality control procedures; as necessary, implements and monitors compliance.
- Trains business unit supervisors in claims best practices.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree required
- ARM or Adjuster's License required
- 6+ years' workers compensation claims experience across multiple states
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret professional journals, legal documents, technical procedures or governmental regulations
- Ability to solve practical problems in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Excellent administrative and organizational skills
- Computer skills in Windows environment, working knowledge of Word, Excel, Access, Lotus Notes software, on-line data base claims systems
