Job Details

AMIRI is looking for an experienced part time Payroll & Reporting Assistant to be responsible for all payroll-related tasks. The Assistant's responsibilities include collecting and reviewing employee information and working hours, calculating wages, preparing and processing employee payments, and maintaining accurate payroll records.

To be successful in this role, you should be able to investigate and resolve payroll issues and ensure strict compliance with company and regulatory standards. An outstanding payroll specialist should also have excellent people skills and a high numerical aptitude.

Payroll Specialist Responsibilities:

  • Collecting timesheet data and payroll information from HR Generalist.
  • Entering data into payroll and administrative databases and software programs.
  • Calculating wages, benefits, tax deductions, commissions, etc.
  • Maintaining accurate records of payroll documentation.
  • Track trends in payroll and share with department. 
  • Preparing HR metrics reports regularly (turnover, tenure, compa-ratio, market pricing).
  • Responding to payroll-related inquiries and resolving concerns.
  • Assist with training management on local/federal wage and hour best practices.
  • Assist with employee onboarding.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of standard operation procedures of the role. 
  • Create corporate and retail best practice FAQ sheets, distribute to teams.
  • Preparing financial reports for HR and auditing purposes.
  • Preparing periodic ad hoc reports for review by management.

Payroll Specialist Requirements:

  • High school diploma/GED.
  • Degree in HR, business, or a related field preferred.
  • High-level understanding of domestic wage and hour laws.
  • Experience working in payroll or a similar role.
  • Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and payroll practices.
  • Experience working with accounting and payroll software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • High numerical aptitude.
  • Detail-oriented.
