HODINKEE is a fast-growing media brand and shop that makes watches accessible to everyone. Over the past decade, founder Ben Clymer has grown HODINKEE into a thriving company of creatives. Our team now consists of writers, editors, designers, photographers, podcasters, engineers, and so many other key players who cement HODINKEE’s position as the most trusted source for watch news and products. We have a website (duh). An app. A podcast. A magazine. A retail business. And more. HODINKEE’s goal is to bring readers and consumers the best in wristwatches in a way that’s approachable, authentic, honest and fun.

We are now hoping to reach new audiences through social media: this is where you come in.

What You'll Do

The HODINKEE Social Media Coordinator will keep the HODINKEE and the HODINKEE Shop social media feeds populated with creative, engaging and dynamic content. The ideal candidate will be a public-facing member of the team and will leap into welcoming new followers into the world of watches. The candidate will work closely with the HODINKEE Audience Engagement Manager to develop short, middle and long-term audience growth goals and come up with new ideas for native social media content.

The right candidate will also speak fluent internet. We need someone with a strong, clear, approachable voice and a sixth sense for how to translate the (sometimes esoteric) world of watches to the public.

In this role, you will…

  • Tell the Hodinkee story via our social media channels on a daily basis. Translate the output of our website, podcasts and multimedia channels for a social media audience.
  • Interact with our highly-engaged community directly on the website to guide conversations around our content.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Vice President of Content and the HODINKEE Shop team to align the social media feeds with the marketing and editorial calendars
  • Work directly with the HODINKEE Audience Engagement Manager for daily guidance, support and strategic planning
  • Coordinate the publishing of HODINKEE social content with brand-sponsored content and HODINKEE Shop content on the site
  • Experiment with new platforms and feel emboldened to learn about all parts of the HODINKEE business

Who You Are

A quick-minded, silver-tongued, fearless, hilarious, unflappable digital native with…

  • A bachelor’s degree or higher (preferably in Advertising, Marketing, Communications, Journalism or the like)
  • 3 to 5 years of meaningful experience in social media
  • Familiarity with media industry best practices
  • Experience using Facebook, Twitter and Instagram native analytics
  • Some experience with community management
  • Superb editing and proofreading chops
  • Great communication skills. You know when to ask for help.
  • Thick skin and unfailing politeness with internet trolls
  • Interest in watches, with a desire to learn more
  • Candidates must possess authorization to work in the U.S.
