We are looking for a Physical Security Specialist to jump in and help with planning, executing, monitoring, controlling, and closing out Physical Security and Safety projects globally. Candidates will champion new workspace builds & related projects from a Physical Security perspective. In this role you will deal with day-to-day requirements such as internal and external project meetings, creating and issuing scopes of work, managing and maintaining partnerships with subcontractors, keeping projects on track, and meeting Shopify project milestones, while leveraging our program managers as contributors.

In this role you will:
  • Champion and prioritize multiple large projects, working closely with other teams to ensure the smooth deployment of safety & security systems globally
  • Develop, manage and update project plans, keeping stakeholders informed.
  • Develop, manage, and oversee the implementation of physical security policies & procedures for our workspaces
  • Create and manage project budgets, ensuring projects are completed successfully without exceeding budget
  • Interact with third-party companies and vendors with regards to physical security projects, services, and maintenance
  • Work closely and continuously on building strong relationships with external contractors
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure project milestones and timelines are met.


Qualifications

You'll need to have:
  • Experience in a physical security project management role
  • Experience in developing & implementing a physical protection system, and its individual aspects such as physical key systems, guard force management, security & door hardware
  • Experience with physical security technology and hardware (alarm systems, access control systems, cctv)
  • Basic understanding of network infrastructure and architecture
  • Strong communication skills and relentless attention to detail
  • Strong data gathering skills
  • Strong interpersonal and team skills
  • Ability to travel internationally and domestically 25% of the time
  • Ability to be on-call as a part of a security on-call rotation and to work occasional nights and weekends as needed
  • Ability to thrive in a rapidly changing environment with limited instruction
  • Ability to motivate team members and lead by example


It would be nice if you had:
  • PMP/CPP/PSP or other relevant industry certifications
  • Knowledgeable in CPTED design principles
  • Tyco security products, including Kantech, Exacqvision, and DSC NEO
  • Experience with cloud-based access control systems
  • Security systems troubleshooting
  • Experience with Bluebeam or AutoCAD
  • Experience with G Suite
