As Country Sales Manager - Italy (m/w/d), you will own and drive the growth of the Connected Retail network. You will penetrate fast and win big across the country, as your team closes deals with brands and retailers signing up their stores so that they can sell and ship products to customers via our platform. You are part of one of the most innovative Zalando teams, reinventing retail: Online-to-Offline.
WHERE YOUR EXPERTISE IS NEEDED
  • Win fast and big. Develop an effective national acquisition and lead conversion strategy, that maximizes rapid growth while building a consistently strong sales pipeline, targeting the right customer segments
  • Hire and lead the best. Develop and support your sales team by defining and prioritizing tasks, KPIs and goals, improving cross-team collaboration, evaluating and developing skills and growth potential as you identify and hire promising talent
  • Build trust. Seize opportunities to understand the needs of the retailers and find the right tone and empathy to successfully bring online and offline together. Develop new sales partnerships to accelerate growth
  • Close the deal. Support the conversion of these opportunities through the creation and delivery of presentations, conducting compelling sales pitches, webinars and negotiations. You have the end-to-end responsibility from first contact to contract conclusion
  • Be our best evangelist. Promote Connected Retail within local retail industry events, trade associations and networks and be adept at turning these opportunities into acquisition growth opportunities
  • Own your success. You are in close contact with Connected Retail sales leadership who will challenge and support you to grow the network rapidly. You have a great deal of freedom in choosing strategies to achieve your goals and, if necessary, adjust your course as needed
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
  • Sales: A minimum of 5 years of work experience with relevant contacts in the industry is required. Experience with selling SaaS to B2B clients and/or experience in brick & mortar retail operations is a big plus. Customer acquisition and turning a fresh prospect into a lead excites you. On top of this, you should show great passion for this role, a native hunger to succeed. Along with perseverance and resilience in your daily job
  • Communication: Strong communication and negotiation skills should be natural for you and a passion for sales. You are fluent in English and Italian
