As internal coaches, we are deeply embedded into Shopify's unique context and have developed powerful relationships with our clients and stakeholders. We play many roles to support client growth - helping them to increase their self-awareness, expand their ability to see and take different perspectives, increase their relational capacity, think more creatively and act more effectively to navigate through the issues and challenges they face on the way to delivering on our mission.

We are looking for coaches who have diverse life and professional experiences, are dedicated to the craft of coaching, committed to bringing their best selves, deeply curious and devoted learners, and team players. You will be working with highly intelligent, driven, and growth oriented people, which will challenge and grow your skill set. You will also have the opportunity to work both in 1-1 and team learning environments.

Responsibilities
  • Build trust and credibility with clients and stakeholders
  • Partner with local Talent teams to strategically develop stronger leaders and teams
  • Gather sufficient context on the business, culture and talent strategies that impact your role and the situations of your clients
  • Be a role model for excellence in coaching presence and effectiveness
  • Use sound judgement, and practical experience to support the short-term and long-term developmental needs of clients, teams and the organization
  • Build strong bonds with the members of the coaching team, the broader talent organization and leaders close to your areas of impact and activity
  • Strictly adhere to the coaching team's confidentiality guidelines (non-negotiable!)
  • Develop and maintain your own personal and professional development plan that aligns with your needs and the coaching teams strategic direction
  • Demonstrate a high level of emotional regulation, interpersonal ease, and the ability to both balance the need for speaking your mind and holding space for others
  • Contribute to the development and growth of the broader Talent Team through leadership, coaching, and team building
  • Embrace change and ambiguity with a flexible and resilient mind


Qualifications

  • Experience working as a coach with companies/individuals in fast paced, high growth and complex environments
  • Passion for coaching leaders and/or teams through personal and professional challenges
  • Demonstrated track record of putting business acumen into practice to help leaders increase their leadership effectiveness and build high trust, high impact teams
  • Experience building high trust and impactful relationships with employees and leaders at all levels
  • Certified coach (Royal Roads, ICC, NVW, CTI, etc)
  • Willingness to work in different time zones
  • Team orientation

Bonus Experience
  • Experience working in a technology-focused organization
  • Facilitation experience with varying levels of leadership and within leadership development programs and intact team development offerings.
  • Multi-lingual
  • Multi-cultural experience, working across different cultures, countries, regions
  • Mediation, counselling or cognitive behaviour development experience
