BITE is hiring a highly creative self-motivated Designer, skilled across all Womenswear product categories and dedicated to creating sustainable fashion. This is an exciting role for a true fashion enthusiast who understands that the only way forward is to treat sustainability and design as equally important and who wants to lead the change within the fashion industry.

The successful candidate is passionate about premium/luxury Womenswear fashion and highly focused on and experienced in creating high fashion collections that are more responsible given the state of the world. We are looking for someone with defined aesthetic point-of-view who can help push the boundaries of an aesthetic expression and move behavior with it.

 Main responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and implement BITE’s design in accordance with the overall brand vision and strategy for the BITE brand and the current product range assortment plan.
  • Research and interpret trends into directional designs that reflect the DNA of the BITE brand.
  • Define purpose of each product.
  • Manage the design- and product development process from concept to production of finished collections, including proto development and SMS delivery.
  • Create and execute seasonal products and collections, within the defined product category, including capsules and collaborations.
  • The work includes elements such as sketching, product silhouette and fit, source and select materials and components in collaboration with Purchase, be responsible for a complete submission of product specifications and design data to Purchase and actively participating in approving fit and functionality of all products to ensure that design integrity is maintained.
  • Operate within the given design calendar and adhere to the corporate critical path so that all deadlines are met.
  • Throughout the entire product development work collaboratively with cross functional teams to help develop a cohesive collection and ensure that the end product is of the highest standard from sampling to production.
  • Create and deliver product presentations.

Person Requirements:

  • Academic degree in Fashion Design or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience from a similar position in the industry, including proven design experience at a premium/luxury brand level
  • Strong experience or passion for sustainability
  • Highly creative with excellent commercial awareness
  • Strong design and conceptual skills.
  • Ability to identify key trends and determine how they appropriately relate to the brand/consumer.
  • Strong knowledge of design- and product development process and manufacturing processes.
  • The ability to sketch and design by hand and on the computer
  • The ability to produce accurate and detailed garment technical specs suitable for manufacturers to understand.
  • Highly proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud/Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop and MS Office
  • In-depth knowledge of silhouettes and garment construction
  • Excellent knowledge in fabrics
  • Knowledge of fit, functionality, performance, and standard measurements
  • Ability to establish excellent relationships both internally and with business partners and communicate with factories and suppliers
  • Experience of working with suppliers and manufacturing facilities in Europe
  • Ability to work in an efficient way to ensure deadlines are met
