Dr. Barbara Sturm is looking for a creative Video Editor to join the Brand & Creative team. The Video Editor will be an important member of the Brand & Creative team working on a variety of projects for all marketing channels. Projects will include – but not limited to – long scale event pieces (3 to 60 mins), social media sizzles, in-store screens, and promotions, cutting short scale clips utilising a mix of footage for social media and advertising purposes. 

REPORTING TO: Brand Director

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establish a clear understanding of the storyline and purpose of the video's creation
  • Create an initial proposed storyboard when necessary
  • Manipulating video footage using modern editing techniques.
  • Manipulating video footage in a way that conveys the intended message to the target audience
  • Meeting with the Creative and Social Media team to determine production vision
  • Managing video editing workload, juggling several projects at one time with short- and long-term deadlines.
  • Trimming footage 
  • Inserting subtitles, sound effects, music, graphics, and special effects 
  • Managing the footage folders
  • Creating the final cuts for broadcasting.
  • Continuously discover and implement new editing technologies and industry’s best practices to maximize efficiency
  • Perform all other job-related duties as assigned
  • Manage all video briefs and work closely with video creators and production houses

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • 2 + years experience editing videos for brands. Ideally beauty and/or luxury industry experience.
  • Proficient in digital media software tools, Adobe Premiere Pro CC, Adobe After Effects CC, Photoshop, Illustrator).
  • Strong grading skills.
  • An understanding of sound design.
  • Able to work within brand guidelines and turning around high-quality video quickly
  • Experience cutting promos or trailers
  • Creative, independent, detail-minded with an eye for detail
  • Extremely organised, flexible and able to handle multiple projects at once in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills are required to have a solid understanding of project scope and implementation
  • Creative flair and interest in creating groundbreaking, imaginative and surprising content
  • A detailed understanding of what works on social media and an understanding of current trends in this area
  • A team-player, equally able to work independently.
  • Passionate about beauty and skincare is a plus
  • 3D animation skills, use of Cinema 4D or similar software is a plus
