Shopify has a unique opportunity to disrupt the enterprise commerce space, and agencies today are already proving this to be possible.As an Agency Partnerships Lead, you and your team will be responsible for defining, developing, and managing relationships across a portfolio of design and development agencies in EMEA.

In this new role, you will be responsible for building local teams, leading the teams and agency performance across some of our key markets, UK & Ireland. You will be critical to supporting our agency partners -they are an integral part of the Shopify Partner Program and your team will be the driving force behind each partner's success in the program.You'll lead market & sub-regional strategic planning, cross-department initiatives, as well as external and internal enablement opportunities. You will collaborate extensively with your partnership lead peers in EMEA,your regional partnerships lead,partner marketing,global agency program,pre-sales & post sales teams for Shopify Plus such as sales, solutions engineering & merchant success; global Shopify Retail/POS team,market expansion,and business development teams.

You will report to the Head of Agency & Tech Partnerships for EMEA.

You'll work on things like:

Regional Strategic Planning (15% of time)
  • Outlining a strategic roadmap for the markets within your territory, working closely with other influencing business units, such as, marketing, product, and data
  • Defining and adopting both a mission and an operational plan for agency partnerships, specific to you region
  • Ensuring the core market continues to prosper (the today) while working in collaboration with the business to define and activate future plans for the region (the tomorrow)
  • Surfacing opportunities for regional growth and enablement opportunities through qualitative and quantitative research

Operational & Program Development (15% of time)
  • Working with the regional and global program to develop and execute on foundational projects, ranging from data management strategy, to agency education, developing new approaches for agency onboarding, developing cross-department playbooks, etc.

Business Development (20% of time)
  • Supporting Partner Managers in pitching and closing multiple types of partnerships, at all scales
  • Supporting Partner Managers in developing strategies on how to drive pipeline with partners
  • Supporting Partner Managers in developing strategies on how to outbound targeted accounts with partners

Revenue Leadership (15% of time)
  • Collaborating with other business leads within the EMEA
  • Cross department collaboration with other business units within the Shopify organization

Team Leadership (30% of time)
  • Managing and mentoring a remote and small team based in UKI, and Europe
  • Effectively utilizing resources for optimal output
  • Hands on performance management (developing intended outcomes, employee performance plans, etc)

Day-to-Day Support (5% of time)
  • Support on issue resolution or general inquiries on behalf of the partners
  • Support vetting and on-boarding of new partnership types


  • Extensive experience working with the Retail or eCommerce industry in UK/ Ireland/ Europe
  • Experience running partnership programs that operate in both a 1:1 model and a 1:many model
  • Proven experience in operationalizing an effective partnership program (from a business, financial, and strategic perspective)
  • Previous experience working for a service provider within the eCommerce space (preferably an agency)
  • Established relationships within the EMEA regions with commerce agencies, technology providers, and other potential businesses that compliment the commerce lifecycle (ex: fulfillment center, branding shops, etc.)
  • Experience in running a well utilized team from a remote location
  • Experience in running a team of individuals with varying degrees of seniority and proven experience in employee performance management
  • Experience working across multiple business units, composed of many stakeholders and influencing factors
  • An understanding of all aspects of an agency's day to day operations (ex. employee resourcing, selling, marketing, and service development)
  • Extensive experience in data and operational management (project management, data insights analysis, CRM management, operational planning, etc.)
  • The ability to manage both tough and/or strategic external conversations and then equally able to manage internal cross-department process development
