JOB SUMMARY

As a Product Development Assistant, you are a critical cross- functional coordinator, pivotal in setting up and maintaining style info in PLM and tracking sampling activities and outputs.

JOB DESCRIPTION

RESPONSIBILITIES:

PLM MAINTENANCE
  • Work cross-functionally with Design and Merchandising to keep track of the contents of the line at the style, materials, and color levels.
  • Once the design team has initiated the styles in PLM, perform maintenance by adding materials, colors, and sourcing office details into the BOM.
  • Ensure PLM is up-to-date at all times, according to development calendar.
  • Work with manager and cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and align on content.

SAMPLE TRACKING AND MANAGEMENT
  • Manage sample flow.
  • Order, monitor, track, and report on all requested prototypes, SMS, campaign samples.
  • Assist in reviewing all prototypes, SMS, and confirmation samples to ensure accuracy in execution to design and specs.
  • Share images of prototypes to cross functional partners.
  • Receive and track all proto/SMS and PPS samples from factories. Mange unpacking and organization of samples.

DEVELOPMENT
  • Review daily communication between NY PD team and factories.
  • Under manager's direction, review and oversee issuance of specs for accuracy and completeness prior to release.
  • Attend cross-functional product milestone meetings / reviews.
  • Assist with spec turnover to ensure timeliness in samples.

CALENDAR
  • Follow calendar to ensure timely turnover of development specs, return of prototypes, swatches and components.
  • Monitor calendar daily to promote flow of development; resolve potential calendar variances with manager.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Organize samples and material swatches in the PD/Merch sample closet.
  • Order reference samples (SMS or Confirmation samples) from the sample archive team.
  • Works on other relevant projects as required by manager.
  • Maintain departmental tools and reports .


EDUCATION & PRIOR EXPERIENCE NEEDED
  • BA/BS degree
  • 1+ years in data management and or product development preferred
  • Exposure to PLM / PDM system a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
