JOB SUMMARY

The Wholesale Planning department at Tory Burch is responsible for setting plans, optimizing sales and driving inventory efficiency from pre-season through end of product lifecycle across all categories of business (2 major categories, 5 lifestyle categories). This role & their team own the monthly divisional OTB and support Sales by setting shipment plans/forecasts as well as POS plans at the Account, category and channel level. Their insights are critical to driving POS demand across evolving business formats (Brick & Mortar, e-commerce, dropship) and quality of sale (full price and promotion). The role has key partners across Sales, Account Services, Finance, IT, Corporate Planning, and DTC Planning. To excel in the position this person must have excellent leadership and communication skills, strong business acumen and industry knowledge. Must have established planning experience, creative problem solving skills, and enjoy working in a fast paced and highly collaborative environment.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Forecasting and Analysis
  • Oversee the development of annual sales, gross margin, receipt and liquidation plans to ensure that financial objectives align with product opportunities.
  • Partner with Sales Leadership to develop supporting strategic business plans.
  • Align financial plans to product plans & SKU assortments by account and product category. Background/familiarity with weekly SKU-level assortment planning preferred.
  • Review and recommend strategies to improve account productivity.
  • Oversee and evolve weekly reporting to capture progress to forecast & PL, as well as risks & opportunities.
  • Lead monthly shipment reforecast process, with comparison to POS trends and ST.
  • Partner with finance on support to account P&L and supplemental projects.
  • Provide shipment & RTV forecasts to Distribution Center; anticipate operational adjustments based on changes to forecast.
  • Support Sales team management of Account-view OTB & profitability, to anticipate risks and opps to shipments as well as progress toward Account KPIs.


Inventory Lifecycle
  • Maintain divisional buy plans to achieve sales, sell thru, and receipt strategies outlined with management & finance.
  • Lead the monthly OTB review post shipment re-forecast; identify opportunities to chase product as well as inventory gluts / liquidation priorities. Partner with Corporate and DTC partners to address.
  • Ensure financial targets are achievable based on current product lifecycle (Full Price & Markdown).
  • Communicate the state of the business in weekly meetings and monthly OTB meetings. Recommend strategic actions to maximize sales and margin, optimize inventory, and mitigate risk.
  • Provide actionable hindsight analysis to support the assortment planning process. Partner with DTC and Corporate Planning to share best practices and evolve assortment planning tools.


Demand Planning
  • Lead direct report(s) in assessing the business and developing strategies to achieve financial objectives.
  • Highlight changes to account and distribution strategies relative to last year or prior buys.
  • Oversee creation of POS plans by channel by Account; ensure clear communication to Sales & Field team members to drive selling incentives toward forecast.
  • Partner with Sales and Merchandising to maintain a promotional calendar providing guidance on key/peak weeks and impact to Account POS & profitability.
  • Own Replenishment through team maintenance of ladder plans; drive assortment & distribution strategy with Accounts.
  • For Fashion, present analysis by style (APS), delivery, & category to highlight prior performance & develop seasonal goals.


Operational Excellence
  • Serve as Functional expert on enterprise IT projects.
  • Identify development opportunities across planning and reporting tools to maximize utilization and add value.
  • Set process & clarify roles & responsibilities across department and cross-functional partners.
  • Monitor and regularly collect input on roadblocks, process improvement opportunities and systems / reporting inefficiencies; leverage cross-functional partners to deliver impactful changes.
  • Lead / Participate in the development of planning, forecasting, allocation, and analysis tools.


People Development
  • Ensure high performance standards through coaching, training, and development of team members.
  • Manages organization and staffing; performs ongoing talent assessments to ensure goals can be achieved.
  • Provide leadership, mentoring and guidance to direct reports, skip-level team members and wider Sales team.
  • Drives training and development of larger Sales & Planning teams in business acumen, systems and process training.
  • Participates in company activities, and helps to support and develop a team environment.
  • Participates in fostering job satisfaction and positive morale for multiple direct reports.


EDUCATION & PRIOR EXPERIENCE NEEDED
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience leading planning organizations
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills; ability to motivate both direct and adjacent teams
  • Strong collaboration and creative problem solving skills
  • Strong analytical and business acumen
  • Experienced with Planning and Merchandising applications
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Minimum 10-15 years' experience working in planning and allocation across channels
