Inventory Control Specialist

JOB PURPOSE
To support all aspects of the distribution centre to maintain accurate inventory levels. Ensure that products are conforming with the agreed standards and non-compliances are dealt with effectively to avoid delays and shipment of products to the customer. Improve processes to prevent recurring issues resulting in inventory discrepancies.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Utilize Warehouse System (SAP) in order to successfully execute all daily aspects of the inventory operations
• Interact and maintain positive relationships with all levels of management and union employees
• Timely and Accurate Posting of Cycle Count results and Inventory transactions. Analysis, reconciliation and reporting of discrepancies
• Monitoring of ageing inventory, perform root cause analysis, and work with management to develop permanent solutions
• Achieve established average per hour (APH) counting goals while ensuring accuracy and integrity of the data collected in all inventories worked
• Record key data and provide regular reporting/metrics internally, and to external finance teams
• Assist the Team Leader with providing direction to Inventory Control associates
• Serve as a back up to the Team Leader during their absence
• Responsible for ensuring inventory records and transaction activities associated with movement of material are accurately recorded in SAP
• Responsible for the integrity, accuracy and control of all in-house materials/inventories by performing daily audits and physical inventory counts
• Assist with physical inventory count process and investigate/resolve any errors or discrepancies
• Maintain and compute inventory balance by running and preparing reports of inventory balances, shortages and discrepancies on a weekly basis
• Run expiring reports and remove expired inventory
• Perform material swaps
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures

QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS
• Excellent attention to details with strong follow through
• Self-motivated, requiring little to no supervision
• Results driven and takes accountability
• Must be able to read, write and speak English
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule/overtime as needed (before/after shift/weekends)
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
• Must be able to work in hot and cold conditions.
EXPERIENCE
• SAP experience preferred
• Previous Inventory Control Experience
• Experience working in a distribution environment preferred
• Experience with RF equipment preferred
• Experience with Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
• Intermediate or better in Excel (Pivot tables, write formulas, create metrics)
