JOB SUMMARY

JOB DESCRIPTION

Reports to: Vice President of Merchandising

OVERVIEW
  • Execute product strategy and global alignment for International Wholesale for all product categories (Handbags, Small Leather Goods, Footwear, Ready to Wear, Jewelry, Accessories).
  • Maintain a perspective and expertise on local trends within the regions as well as understand the competitive landscape to shape the regional strategy.
  • Understand areas of opportunity within and across territories and take action to capitalize on the opportunities in alignment with Global Merchandising strategies.
  • Link product strategy to assortment building and partner with international regions to execute and evolve based on regional nuances and business needs.
  • Create synergies and standardization in process, strategy, and reporting across all categories.
  • Represent international channels in cross functional sales meetings, proto reviews, lineplan meetings, hindsights and product development.

MERCHANDISING
  • Partner with Global Merchandising in line development review and call out voids.
  • Partner with Merchandising in assortment editing for department.
  • Consolidate regional product lineplan needs and streamline communication to global merchandising teams.
  • Manage assortment/editing for each category, season, and region with recommended assortments to the SKU level.
  • Communicate, develop, and execute regional specific exclusive product needs with Global Merchandising.
  • Oversee on-going communications with merchandising around production issues (i.e. delays, shorts, etc) and communication to appropriate teams.
  • Consolidate and provide projections for factory capacity/orders as needed for all regions.
  • Attend and participate actively in cross channel monthly sales meetings, global alignment, and cross channel strategy meetings.
  • Conduct and present monthly sales/product meetings for Merchandising teams across categories.
  • Maintain milestones on global development calendar for all regions.
  • Competitive Market Trends: keep up to date and present regional market trends.

MARKET
  • Conduct market presentations and walkthroughs for external buyers and internal retail buying teams.
  • Attend meetings, assortment reviews with accounts as the voice of merchandising.
  • Review buy-in to suggestions across accounts/retail buying teams and provide feedback.
  • Analyze and present market recaps.
  • Monitor and execute global buy alignment across all categories and regions.
  • Manage and report market sell in across all categories and regions.

EDUCATION & PRIOR EXPERIENCE NEEDED
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field of study
  • Minimum 8 years previous merchandising experience with a focus on international overseeing multiple categories
  • Strong analytical skills paired with strategic business acumen and application
  • Detail-oriented, results-driven, highly motivated, and entrepreneurial
  • Ability to negotiate with and influence peers, members of a cross-functional team and senior management.
  • Executive presence and acumen, ability to formally present product presentations and assortments globally to a wide audience.
