What You'll Do

The SEM/Paid Search Manager is responsible for leading the development of paid search channel efforts, maximizing customer growth at cost-effective levels and will be a critical part of our digital marketing team.  The ideal candidate will have experience developing, implementing and managing Paid Search campaigns, while optimizing performance to drive specific KPIs and predefined goals. Reporting to the Senior Director of Digital Media, the SEM/Paid Search Manager will integrate cross-functionally, regularly liaise within the Digital Media team, as well as the wider Marketing function and business organization and help manage the SEM agency. This role is accepting applicants based in NYC or Atlanta, GA.

In this role, you will …

  • Lead the daily management and optimization of SEM campaigns with strong focus on customer acquisition (ROI, ROAS and CPA).
  • Manage the SEM agency by providing clear direction and strategy for planning, execution and optimization of campaigns, budgeting, and performance
  • Integrate PPC best practices and innovative strategies on key platforms including Google, Bing, Criteo, as well as other search platforms as the landscape continues to change
  • Ensure that ad copy development, audience targeting, and KPI tracking ladder up to brand voice and key business goals
  • Propose and align with Senior Director of Digital Media on strategic approach, bid recommendations, audience and regional targeting, spend caps, execution details, budgets/accounting and overall goal achievement
  • Ensure SEM plays the defined role in the full funnel marketing strategy
  • Embrace a ‘test and learn’ approach to experiment and gain key learnings
  • Establish benchmarks for success to align with channel spend, revenue, and customer targets
  • Understand and reflect business and strategic brand priorities across all campaigns
  • Review daily, weekly and monthly reports to assess and optimize performance, provide recommendations to Senior Director of Digital Media and communicate key performance updates and insights to SVP Marketing and CMO
  • Work collaboratively with the entire marketing team to leverage learnings from other channels, audience segmentation work and ensure key commercial, brand, and marketing initiatives are supported by SEM
  • Leverage web analytics to flag any enhancements needed along the user journey, any blockers to conversion, or improvements needed to collapse the funnel 
  • Keep abreast of market trends and developments, drive innovation - working with agency and media partners to identify new betas and tools to drive search performance forward

Who You Are 

  • Deep understanding of Paid Search and Direct Response campaigns, and experience with attribution, conversion tracking, and optimizing towards strict KPI goals (ROAS + customer KPIs)
  • Collaborative team player, detail oriented and strong communicator
  • Highly numerate, data obsessed, and an expert at Excel
  • Logical thinker with experience using analytics to drive decision-making and demonstrable experience driving growth through test-and-learn
  • A self-starter with proven project management success - able to multi-task with effective resolution management in a fast-paced, growing environment
  • Experience and confidence presenting data-supported recommendations to all levels of management
  • Clear communicator who is able to translate strategy into action, and results into insights
  • Proven track record of successful paid search campaigns, with success in growing and scaling relative to consumer acquisition goals
  • Stay current on digital and paid search trends

Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of SEM Marketing and experience with bid management tools (Google AdWords, SA360, Kenshoo, Marin, etc.)
  • Direct working experience with Google account teams preferred
  • Hands on experience managing an agency to drive optimal value and performance based on own professional knowledge and expertise preferred
  • Ecommerce experience preferred
  • Candidates must possess authorization to work in the U.S
