(Junior) Sourcing Manager Apparel - Private Labels

As a (Junior) Sourcing Manager you will be part of the central Supplier Management team within Zalando - Private Label, which is responsible for end-to-end supplier sourcing and onboarding, as well as the supplier relationships, supplier performance reviews and supplier & region strategy.

Focusing strongly on maximization of long-term strategic relations with our suppliers, you will have the possibility to directly impact the company's commercial goals and sustainability ambitions & growth across the entire platform through increase in sales and overall profitability.

You will actively review and evaluate the performance of suppliers, identify opportunities and drive improvements, as well as prepare for and successfully execute strategic negotiations (scale discounts, lead times, Tier 1 initiatives) together with your key stakeholders internally and externally.
  • Implementing, steering the sourcing strategy for textile categories whilst taking into account the company strategy and targets.
  • Coordinating and ensuring the execution of all operational tasks (i.e. supplier scanning, onboarding, supplier performance evaluation, supplier optimization) that are related to your area within given deadlines.
  • With a mindset of continuous improvement, you proactively suggest improvements to create a robust and sustainable supplier base enabling other business units to make the best supplier/product-related decisions.
  • Successfully executing medium/high complex projects where multiple internal or external stakeholders are involved and present to various stakeholders and solve newly arising problems on-the-go.
  • University degree in the field of supply chain or business administration along with +4 years experience in supply chain, supplier management, sourcing, and buying related areas with a global retailer, preferably in the e-commerce/fashion environment.
  • Experience in leading sourcing-related negotiations with the suppliers. (e.g. MOQs, prices, lead times, growth rebates, payment terms, etc.)
  • Commercial minded and skills to make complex data analysis with relevant KPIs that can support your arguments accordingly and make data-driven decisions.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills (in English) and ability to transfer the message clearly to the different levels of audience.
  • Being able to represent Zalando in external meetings, conferences and trade fairs.
