JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Buyer will be responsible for leading on buying and assorting merchandise for EC Channel in China, in accordance with corporate guidance and providing on-going feedback around merchandise needs on a specific category. He or she is required to establish strategic merchandise plans for sales, markdowns, inventory, and growth opportunity.

JOB DESCRIPTION

BUYING
  • Responsible for the EC buying of all categories
  • Assist in formulating the buying strategy and the buying process to make sure each buy is done properly (quantity and styles) by assorting the line, analyzing history, and identifying volume drivers to maximize sales for each season with guidance and collaboration with the Corporate Buying function
  • Work closely with Marketing team (PR, Retail Marketing and Digital) to incorporate Product Launch, Key theme push, store events and etc.
  • Work closely with VM for the in-store display and windows to maintain a global image and also drive sales
  • Be responsible for the merchandise distribution, stock allocation and merchandise reordering management


PROVIDE FEEDBACK ON LOCAL MARKETS NEEDS
  • On-going communication with Merchandising Team in U.S. on local market needs and specific country requests, that include but not limited to special products, new stores opening and new initiatives of the region
  • In touch with local industry trends and competitor awareness in pricing, trend, quality and products offers


POINT PERSON FOR REGIONAL MERCHANDISING STRATEGY
  • Key communicator of the assigned categories' seasonal merchandising strategy to local Retail teams
  • Responsible for the Seasonal Product training to the local Retail teams
  • Conduct product training when season kick off to retailstaff to ensure they possess good knowledge
  • Provide the specific training (trendy Information, key item focus, regional delivery timetable) to retail staff and tracking their performance
  • Support and work with training team regarding to product knowledge and in-store activity to enhance training throughout the season
  • Translate the relevant materials on product knowledge


SALES DRIVER AND OWNERSHIP
  • Run varies sales reports and analyze data weekly to identify current sales trend, inventory situation, and opportunities, recommending action plan weekly on ground in order to drive sales:
  • Sales/EOH by season, concept, class, style, stores
  • Action Plan on Best Seller and Slow Mover
  • Recommend Markdowns/Promotions
  • Call out any Initial Product delivery issues and/or Propose Replenishment
  • Co-ordinate Bi- Weekly local products transfer/consolidation
  • Event planning and coordination merchandising related
  • Support local retail team on merchandising related such as defective products, system retail price error, store product request etc.


LOCAL MARKET EXPERT
  • Competitor analysis, pricing research, product research, consumer research
  • Collecting market trends, successes/opportunities and the end consumer behavior, and then come out how to influence and improve the future collections for the country
  • Support any Marketing/PR tie ups, events, exclusive opportunities merchandising related


EDUCATION & PRIOR EXPERIENCE NEEDED
  • A minimum of 5 years fashion retail merchandising experience. Previous buying experience in luxury fashion industry
  • Strong team worker, retail driven mindset, communication and presentation skills
  • Sound business acumen and retail numerical sense, detailed mind with strong analytical skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office Applications and advanced in Excel
  • Excellent command in English & Chinese
