Dreamwear is a leading wholesale intimate apparel and sleepwear company working with brands such as Danskin, Nautica, Juicy Couture, Marilyn Monroe, XOXO. We are looking to strengthen our business by creating a new Design Archive process and we are seeking an intern to help support us as we build the foundation. This will include both helping to oversee our color filing system, as well as digitally recording our designs in our internal system, (FileMaker), by both inputting skus and auditing our master list “call system” to ensure that all users can quickly look up colors by name and standards.

We are seeking someone who can work through the Fall semester, at least three days per week. Ideally, we can start this person a bit sooner, (in August), so that they can overlap with our current intern, but this is not required for the right candidate. Please also note that this role will be working in our Manhattan office, not virtually.

This position is great for someone who is highly organized, pays close attention to detail and can work well in an individual capacity as well as taking constructive feedback while working with a team, and can adhere to these essential responsibilities:

COLOR LIBRARY -

  • Keep color library/color design tools updated and organized
  • Pick up orders for color standards and distribute to the design teams
  • Prepare color standards for factories
  • Match color standards & palettes digitally; pull missing color standards for color team
  • Long-term project: Work on the creation of various color design tools for teams, (such as color rings or binders), to assist with overall team efficiency

DESIGN ARCHIVES -

  • Locate CADS in the design server in accordance with style numbers, then upload and arrange them to FileMaker
  • Update CADs with appropriate information for catalog and showroom binders
  • Fulfill group CAD requests via FileMaker and email for jpeg images to supplement the sales team database (called OA)

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Strong organization skills is required; a background in archives or filing work would be a huge benefit
  • Art work or a fine-materials background is also a huge plus.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills
  • Strong excel skills are needed; experience with an archiving system is also strongly preferred.
  • Motivated self-starter with a desire to learn
  • Ideal candidate is passionate about design, with a great eye for color and design
  • Must be able to work three days per week (Monday-Friday, no weekends)

* This job description is not intended to be exhaustive. The responsibilities can be changed orally or in writing at any time by the discretion of management.
