POSITION OBJECTIVE:

This position is one of strategic importance that will significantly contribute to the continued improvement of all systems, processes, and practices within the respective area.

This position participates in a wide array of both short-term and long-term challenges/initiatives; work both on teams and independently; works on multiple requests simultaneously for more than one functional area and at a high level of quality and efficiency; and quickly becomes knowledgeable about the detail workings and requirements of assigned functional areas & initiatives.

This is a systems/functional/analytical role requiring a solid proven track record in communication skills - both verbal and written. This is not an application development position. However, it is responsible for helping in all aspects of the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process up to and including post implementation support.

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES :
  • Develops, updates, and maintains various programs or software packages to handle specific jobs or functions based upon business/client needs.
  • Develops, analyzes, reviews, and updates programs, using workflow chart and diagram, and applying knowledge of computer capabilities, subject matter, and symbolic logic.
  • Performs or directs revision, repair, or expansion of existing programs to increase operating efficiency or adapt to new requirements.
  • Consults with managerial, engineering, and technical personnel to clarify program intent, identify problems, and suggest changes.
  • Tracks and resolves functional defects of varying sizes and severity.
  • Performs systems analysis and programming tasks to maintain and control the use of computer systems software as a systems programmer.
  • Compiles and writes documentation of program development and subsequent revisions, inserting comments in the coded instructions so others can understand the program.
  • Prepares diagrams that describe input, output, and logical operation, and convert them into a series of instructions coded in a computer language.
  • Consults with and assists end users or system analysts to define and resolve problems in running programs.
  • Mentors and supports other colleagues on team for technical questions and decisions.


QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of experience in applications development
  • Experience with T-SQL i.e., ability to write complex queries, understand stored procedures and debug code (MCSA preferred)
  • Experience with SAP Business Objects (BOBJ)
  • Experience with SAP BW, a plus
  • Experience in Retail industry, a plus
  • Experience in Tableau & Power BI a plus
  • Advanced experience gathering business requirements for IT projects.
  • Advanced experience with software development processes.
  • Must have the ability to work in a fast pace environment and react to situations as they arise in the appropriate manner
  • Ability to analyze and resolve issues via telephone
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment and effectively meet project deliverables on time
  • Must be dependable, punctual, and reliable
  • Must be flexible and available to provide off-hours support
  • Ability to work off shift for on call responsibilities
