At Zalando Design we combine empathy, science and creativity to make engaging and joyful user experiences to ultimately reimagine fashion for the good of all.

As a Community Manager you are responsible for connecting the overall company-wide product design community as well as sub-communities. This includes deeply understanding their needs to improve their satisfaction and retention. You will be working closely with design management and will be leading the conversation on community topics.

Alongside the community aspects, as an extension to our external community, you will support the Zalando Design social media channels. Your main tasks will include campaign planning, uploading and monitoring of the results.

WHERE YOUR EXPERTISE IS NEEDED
  • Onboard, support and empower members of the Product Design Community
  • Develop strategies, concepts and tools to increase engagement and interaction with our community, explore continuously opportunities to engage with our community in innovative ways
  • Develop plans for community launch, activation and growth; and oversee community programs from discovery, definition, design to delivery and beyond
  • Identify opportunities and support design leadership to contribute to the community
  • Monitor the health and performance of our community
  • Provide guidelines and best practices around employee engagement and support the community until it can be self-sustained
  • Contribute to developing a creative and engaging social media strategy for Zalando Design
  • Create content for our community platforms, including day-to-day management of the Zalando Design Instagram account
  • Manage Social Media (organic) for various social media platforms to align with Employer Branding strategies
  • Build meaningful relationships with the internal and external digital community
  • Analyze competitor activity and research the best industry practices


WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • A degree in a field such as Event Management, Marketing, Social Media, PR, Communication Science or Community Management
  • Ideally you have experience in community management, either by working in the industry or by leading communities, meetups or conferences
  • You have relevant work experience in an international and multicultural environment with excellent communication skills in both written and verbal English
  • Strong understanding of the digital media landscape and the ability to spot upcoming trends
  • While a technical background is not required, you are excited by technology and understand the tech and design landscape
  • You are a self-starter, world-class individual contributor with lots of initiative and creativity
  • You have an ability to thoroughly research opportunities and prioritize them based on impact
  • Organizational, conceptual, and creative skills and, hands-on mentality and thriving to find the best solution in the shortest possible time, open to continuous change


Support and highlight successes of the community
  • Monitor community activity and proactively engage in the community conversation, providing information and support
  • Monitor community adoption; ensure that the right support is given at all times
  • Support and share new content, new members, new groups and new topics; specifically profile, elevate and expose key members and newly participating members
  • Market the growing value of our design communities' content by highlighting their successes and building them up to become thought-leaders within and outside of Zalando
