JOB SUMMARY

JOB SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Operations Supervisor, the Assistant Supervisor is responsible for servicing the Tory Burch brand by coordinating and prioritizing the daily replenishment tasks and workload in the DC. Under the direction of their Supervisor, the Assistant Supervisor will assist with all training, development and implementation of process improvements, and ensure that associates follow all safety rules and company SOP's.

JOB DESCRIPTION

RESPONSIBILITIES

OPERATIONS
  • Assist with the development and execution of daily work plans, labor allocation needs, and end of shift reporting
  • Assist with the coordination of training and cross training of associates across all operational areas
  • Move, stack and stage products and materials using a fork lift, electric or manual pallet jack, or other power equipment as necessary
  • Contribute to the overall team effort and accomplish related results as required


MAINTAINING A SAFE WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner following defined work methods and procedures
  • Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse by conducting operations in a manner which promotes safety of employees and security of product
  • Continually watch for potentially dangerous situations (i.e. pallets that have been placed in the reserve location where boxes, rack location and/or the pallet itself is not safe). Always monitor and report if any equipment (i.e. Hi-Lo's, pallet jacks, power jacks, etc.) is not functioning properly
  • Report any issues concerning the general facility (i.e. if the bathrooms are not functioning properly, if the roof leaks after it rains, if the baler is not operating normally etc.)
  • Inform supervisor of any unsafe or hazardous working conditions
  • Assist supervisor with identifying and correcting unsafe behaviors and negative safety performance trends


PRODUCTIVITY
  • Monitor individual performance through direct observation and productivity metrics and assist supervisor in addressing individual needs necessary to reach departmental objectives
  • Present productivity and accuracy improvement ideas to supervisor and assist in the messaging to shift management
  • Participate in studies, projects, and productivity initiatives as directed


PEOPLE
  • Assist Supervisor in the identification of "high potential" associates and assist in the development and implementation of action plans to help those associate reach the next level
  • Monitor associate attendance and help ensure the adherence of all policies and procedures while administering corrective action as directed and approved by Supervisor and/or Manager
  • Keep a close pulse of the floor and notify Supervisor whenever issues look like they may be elevating

  • Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with co-workers and management team
  • Ability to read and interpret simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to write simple reports and correspondence
  • Ability to make mathematical computations
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instruction
  • Ability to compare results to the desired outcome and follow-up on any discrepancies or inconsistencies
  • Ability to communicate, read, and write clearly in basic English
  • Ability to demonstrate outstanding customer service at all times
  • Skill in operating business computers and office machines, including word-processing, spreadsheets, database software programs, and e-mail


EDUCATION & PRIOR EXPERIENCE NEEDED

  • High school diploma, GED, or some college preferred
  • 3+ years related experience and/or training
  • Experience with warehouse equipment
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, including Excel
  • WMS knowledge preferred
  • Bilingual is a plus
