As the L&D Specialist, you will support the development and implementation of the Learning and Development strategy and act as a custodian for the DSM values and ethos. Working across retail and head office, you will define performance and development processes across the functions in a specialised role supporting leaders and employees to develop their skills and careers within the business.
 

DEVELOPMENT

  • Manage and maintain DSM company training calendar, working with teams to pull together engaging and diverse content
  • Manage the talent mapping process for the business, working with dept heads to map out their teams and develop individual action plans
  • Develop and maintain company succession plans, working with key stakeholders to identify bespoke development journeys
  • Hold career meetings with individuals in the business to identify current and future skill gaps and develop proactive training plans
  • Support with new starter inductions and develop the DSM induction process and content on a regular basis
  • Work with retail team to develop the retail guide for new starters
  • Support with the development of leaders on topics connected to successful learning and development processes
  • ¬†Identify and interact with external partners and consultants to support L&D strategy
  • Compile and monitor L&D KPIs (retention, promotions, competence), provide regular analysis and formulate clear action plans

PERFORMANCE

  • Manage quarterly performance review process, setting deadlines and training teams on objective setting/performance conversations
  • Work with retail team to develop sales/KPI driven performance processes
  • Co-ordinate probationary review processes across the business, working with both Managers and Employees to ensure a supportive and seamless transition into the business
  • With support from senior leaders, build departmental competency frameworks

BELONGING

  • Alongside key stakeholders and the belonging committee, support the business in driving forward the belonging strategy
  • Identify inspirational and educational diversity and inclusion trainings for the team

Profile
 

  • Previous experience working as an L&D specialist or in a HR generalist role with L&D responsibilities
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills
  • An engaging and charismatic self-starter
  • High energy and dynamic with a passion for supporting team and individual development
  • Pragmatic and outcome-oriented, leveraging data to make informed decisions
  • Thrives in a fast paced, agile environment with exceptional organisational skills and ability to re-prioritise on a consistent basis
  • Ability to influence, consult and collaborate at all levels
  • Attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks & priorities
