The Associate CAD Designer will work under the direction of the Senior Design Director, Footwear to create and execute all footwear sketches into 2D/3D illustrations to visually represent designs and design stories for presentations and factory execution. The ideal candidate must be able to work in a fast paced environment, interpret a wide variety of actual and prospective components and materials into compelling 2D imagery and to group images for presentations in collaboration with the team.

  • Transfer hand-drawings of shoes, sandals, boots, molded footwear into linework and fill them with color, material, texture and pattern options for design presentations/edits and for communicating to factories and suppliers.
  • Ensure that technical specs are complete with all details in order for the factories are able to understand and execute the design.
  • Interpret prints/patterns from other categories and appropriately place in size and scale for specific footwear categories.
  • Digitize color palette each season.
  • Categorize and maintain digital archives by season of all designs for easy reference and accessibility.
  • Conduct design research and hand sketching as needed.
  • Support the design team with organization, organizing, texture library, pantone-ing etc.

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred in related field
  • Minimum of 2 years previous working experience
  • Expert level skills in Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Previous experience using Rhino and/or Solidworks for 3D illustratrations preferred
  • Ability to think in a three dimensional manner
  • Previous experience working on molded footwear a plus
  • Must possess strong organizational, communication skills and a strong attention to detail
