JOB PURPOSE
This position will lead, inspire and take accountability for all outlet planning and merchandising activities across Burberry's global organisation. They will lead by example, acting as an ambassador for Burberry, fostering a culture of simplification, innovation and collaboration and driving excellence across the outlet channel.
They will be accountable for:
- Defining and recommending the commercial principles relating to Outlet such as cooling off periods, raw material utilisation, pricing and markdown guidance
- Leading strategic and controlled inventory management overseeing the Global Outlet Open to Buy and maximising available inventory from all channels post delist
- Defining and ensuring adherence to the Outlet end to end critical path whilst also providing overall governance to targets
- Owning the Made for Outlet Catalogue and working with PD in order develop Design for Outlet requests.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Accountable for defining and keeping adherence to the Outlet end to end critical path, maintaining governance surrounding commercial principles
- Responsible for delivering initial outlet pricing and markdown guidance, and ensuring alignment on individual regions' promotional strategies.
- Accountable for identifying potential Outlet replenishment items based on performance within outlet
- Responsible for providing input into Made for Outlet Catalogue (including must buy percentage) and Design for Outlet alongside Central Merchandising based on commercial insight and analysis.
- Responsible for ensuring adherence to product legal requirements
- Responsible for partnering closely with VM, Merchandising, Supply Chain, Legal, Finance and Regional Outlet teams to ensure operational efficiency of Outlet process
- Accountable for highlighting risks and opportunities and gaining alignment across teams based on shifts in delist strategy from Central Merchandising
- Responsible for the management of aged inventory, ensuring limited need for provisioning.
- Responsible for establishing an Outlet hindsight process and communicating high level findings to cross-functional partners
PERSONAL PROFILE
- Demonstrated experience leading an outlet planning and merchandising team in a fast paced commercial and luxury environment
- Demonstrated leadership skills: inspiring, energising and instilling a culture of innovation, collaboration and accountability
- Demonstrated excellence across all aspects of outlet planning, including financial/commercial planning, outlet inventory management and global Open to Buy management
- Creative, innovative and customer-oriented when faced with business challenges
- Solid decision-making capability driven by developing strategic product and business initiatives
- Expert communication skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate with credibility across all levels of the organisation
- Dynamic and collaborative style, able to build positive working relationships with cross-functional teams and translate strategic direction into day to day direction for outlet planning teams
- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills
- Experience with SAP would be advantageous
