We are currently looking for a full-time Knitwear Developer/Designer to join our team in Budapest to oversee our knitwear production and sampling process. As the knitwear product developer, you will be responsible for the seasonal placement, coordination of the fittings, and assisting in achieving the designer’s vision, as well as for the sample collections’ arrival on time. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design collections in line with the creative director’s vision
  • Manage the collection from concept through to production 
  • Takes ownership of the product life cycle, manages and follows the workflow involved
  • Conducts and/or participates in regular team meetings to ensure teams are aligned and makes sure to address issues on time
  • Is the key point of contact with manufacturers and suppliers and follows all sourcing and ordering information and makes sure all info is kept up to date
  • Supports developers and factories by monitoring the status of incoming materials – in case of both samples and final production items
  • Ensures that production capacity and availability is managed at partner factories
  • Works closely with the Designers and the Creative Director to get approval on the incoming materials and accessories required for products and follows up with suppliers in case of complaints or issues
  • Assists in finding suitable manufacturers for the product line based on the plans and concepts of the Designer
  • Prepares all materials and accessories required for production and ensures timely delivery and shipment to manufacturers from the warehouse
  • Prepares all documentation necessary for the shipment of materials and final products
  • Responsible for comments on the various development samples throughout proto, pre-production, and production stages – making sure all relevant stakeholders are kept in the loop
  • Oversees and organizes production and design sessions and take comments, provides proactive and focused input to ensure further production processes run smoothly
  • Owns and documents sample orders, fitting comments and is able to report on their status at any given time
  • Prepares cost sheets and updates them regularly
  • Coordinates with internal departments such as Sourcing, Production Merchandising, and Finance

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Academic degree, from education that is specific to textile or knitwear and business
  • Expert knowledge of technical aspects within knitting, including diverse knowledge of yarns, gauges, and knit machines
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a production/manufacturing role preferably from high-end fashion brands
  • Highly proficient in MS Office and GSuite applications - particularly Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication & time management skills
  • A team player with strong social- and communication skills
  • Experienced in working with high volume luxury products
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships both internally and with suppliers
  • Detail-oriented with strong follow-through
  • Strong understanding of the Aeron brand aesthetic
  • Analytical abilities and aptitude in problem-solving
  • Desire to build and improve processes
  • Driver’s license and the willingness to travel to suppliers when necessary
