Overview

At Stella McCartney, we are currently looking to connect with Designers from Junior to Senior Design level. Womenswear Design is responsible for conceptualisation and design of the RTW Womenswear collection, from design and sample creation, through to product development and the Designers support the entire design process.

Your Mission:
  • Thoroughly research seasonal themes and inspirations, fabric and colour concepts in collaboration with the Senior Designer and the Design team to further develop the key overarching creative direction throughout the season delivering your own original ideas to bring freshness and relevance to the product
  • Mood board creation and research of general trends, inspiration as well as details and materials for season direction
  • Work closely with the Head Designers, on inspiring and innovative designs that will be sketched and put into development each season presenting inspiring, bold and innovative design ideas
  • Participate in fittings and display a high level of confidence and aptitude in developing styles from sketch to production
  • Develop a close working relationship with the Product Development team to ensure they are up to date on sketches development, passing correct fitting notes and instructions for fabric to sketch, provide complete and updated design information for them to pass onto our factories to ensure successful proto types
  • Preparing specs and managing deliveries and deadlines
  • Presentation of trends to Design team with first sketches covering various product lines
  • Development of prototypes
  • Working with the atelier to amend prototypes and finalise samples


Your Talent:
  • Exceptional taste and creativity levels, understanding a luxury fashion environment
  • Ability to adapt to frequent change and competing priorities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships
  • High work ethic, integrity, and reliability with a "Hands on" attitude, with great time management skills
  • Sample making and draping experience
  • Elevated understanding of the brand ethos and ethical values
  • Ability to understand creative direction and concepts
  • Commercially minded, quickly responding to business/market needs
  • Creative thinker, with the ability to think outside the box and an eye for detail


Systems and Essentials .

  • Experience of CAD software
  • Must have strong computer skills, including excel and power point
  • Proficient in Adobe Suite
