Assistant Merchant

Provide day to day support to Chief Commercial Officer and obtain general understanding of Merchandising and Sales functions. This person with be an integral member of the cross functional team driving day to day operations to support product coming to life.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist in maintaining and distributing accurate reports and tools
• Own calendar for Product and Sales departments
• Support data entry into team used systems
• Act as a point of contact with cross-functional teams (design, product development, sales and production)
• Manage competitive decks, runway recaps and have a firm understanding of the market through online and in store market research
• Manage sample support and partner closely with team on sample coordination and tracking
• Provide general assistance and support to Chief Commercial Officer and the team
• Coordinate departmental projects as needed.
• Maintain working knowledge of Outlook, Excel, Word and Powerpoint

QUALIFICATIONS

• BA degree or equivalent experience
• Previous internships / experience in merchandising/buying within a retail/wholesale environment
• Strong numerical and analytical skills
• Self-starter
• Strong ability to identify and execute priorities with a sense of urgency
• Have a proactive approach to responsibilities
• Strong organizational and planning skills to ensure timely and accurate execution of responsibilities
• Confident attitude
• A great eye for detail
• Team player mentality
• Proficient skills in excel and outlook with an aptitude for learning new programs
