This is a newly created opportunity to lead Burberry's global payroll team through a period of exciting transformation.

The role will have 3 key areas of responsibility;

  • Direct Leadership for the EMEIA payroll team and correlating payroll delivery
  • Indirect Leadership of Global Payroll Teams driving improved consistency, accuracy and colleague experience in everything that we do
  • Supporting the Global HR Operations Director with the creation and implementation of a 3 year Global Payroll Transformation strategy


  • Creation of a compelling vision for Global Payroll in Burberry - driving end to end awareness of roles & responsibilities to enabling payroll excellence
  • Working with Global HR Ops Director and other Burberry colleagues to agree 3 year programme of transformation activity - including TOM, Delivery Model etc...
  • Tactical leadership of EMEIA payroll team ensuring that all payrolls are delivered on time and to high accuracy
  • Working with current vendors to optimise performance and value from partnerships
  • Ensuring a plan for compliance across global internal/external audits, controls, local legislation, and relevant data legislation (GDPR).
  • Driving a culture of continual review and improvement across all processes within Time to Pay global process
  • Developing great partnerships across broader HR & Finance function, working to "improve together" across identified areas for improvement
  • Lead on payroll elements of the broader HR Transformation strategy


  • Payroll certification, or equivalent experience level
  • Experience of delivering best in class payroll management on a global scale
  • Proven track record in engaging and inspiring leadership
  • Experience working in a global matrix environment
  • Experience in delivering transformational payroll projects
  • Depth of experience in working with Third party vendors and various payroll systems
