Digital Design Director

Position Objectives

  • Responsible for the creative execution of all digital assets for elysewalker.com, including web assets and digital marketing assets to support all digital marketing activities (email, social, paid marketing campaigns).  Acts as both lead digital art director and lead graphic designer for the brand.
  • The Director will report to the Vice President of Visual & Creative Services and work closely with brand communications, ecommerce, and digital marketing teams to create visually dynamic and sales-driving experiences across digital customer touchpoints.
  • The position is responsible for the Ecommerce design & UX/UI of global digital projects with a strong emphasis on design and content creation.
  • This person must be highly knowledgeable in understanding consumer behavior in the digital space (especially luxury brands), the nuances of online functionality, digital marketing, emerging technology, and digital trends and incorporate into the creative process.
  • This position is based in our Los Angeles Corporate office

Key Areas of Responsibility

Digital Art Direction

  • Work closely with the VP of Digital & Ecommerce and Digital Marketing Manager to plan, create, and conceptualize marketing campaigns, and content
  • Lead the creative process from idea to execution ensuring design quality, brand consistency, and consumer-first thinking
  • Develop and manage creative production and prioritization across digital channels
  • Own and optimize the creative brief process
  • Maintain, evolve, and translate elysewalker’s design guidelines across multiple platforms to create a cohesive and thoughtful brand experience
  • Responsible for staying up to date on the latest industry trends, while looking outside of the world of fashion for inspiration

Graphic Design/Asset Creation

  • Create and adapt concepts into assets for distribution across digital touch points (website banners, marketing assets, email designs)
  • Oversee the production process for digital asset creation from start to finish
  • Ensure creative excellence (best in class tactics by channel) adherence to brand guidelines
  • Provide guidelines for photos shoots and oversee post-production process for creating final assets that are ‘web ready’, with a strong mobile-first approach
  • Manage asset distribution

Required Skills

  • 7-10 years of graphic design/art direction experience in a highly creative environment, with 3-5 years of experience ideating and creating digital campaigns and assets for luxury brands within an agency or corporate setting.
  • Strong creative vision and understanding of brand(s) business needs and objectives, with ability to understand how brands come to life in different channels for full campaigns
  • Strong command of the visual language of fashion and a retail luxury aesthetic.
  • Deep understanding of creative best practices for digital channels; knowledge of UX best practices and modern UI
  • Ability to create motion graphics
  • Strong portfolio with digital design samples (email, social, web, etc.)
  • Expert level experience with Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) and other tools to create digital and advertising content
  • Basic understanding of HTML/CSS/JavaScript and the functional constraints in producing web-based graphics
  • Strong project management skills to deliver content on-time and on budget
  • Open attitude and comfortable working in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment
  • Highly organized and deadline-driven
