ABOUT THE TEAM
The "Markets Planning & Trading" Team is part of the Commercial Planning & Trading department, a cross-functional unit that connects all commercial functions to execute global strategies on a country level and drive the commercial success of Zalando across European markets. We are responsible for planning and monitoring the sales of Zalando and analyzing the impact of drivers on business performance. As part of the Central Planning & Trading Team we oversee cross-markets planning and decision making, and act as a direct link between local markets, key functions (such as Supply, Pricing, Marketing, Finance, Logistics) and Management.
WHERE YOUR EXPERTISE IS NEEDED
  • Working closely with the Lead of Central Planning & Trading team, you will be working on sales planning, forecasting and trading decisions for all Zalando markets (16+ markets across Europe)
  • You will review and challenge the sales planning and commercial targets across all European countries. You will provide recommendations to the markets to ensure a sound and accurate commercial plan across markets
  • You will support on driving the planning process for all local markets, working closely with various commercial and finance functions such Supply, Finance, Pricing, Logistics and Marketing to build yearly Budget and Reviews planning
  • You will support the Central Planning Lead and Markets leadership team on performance reporting and you will be constantly involved in short and long term trading decisions to drive Zalando's commercial success
  • You will drive cross-markets analysis and participate in key commercial projects such as Cyber Days. You will support the Central Planning in regularly monitoring the performance and facilitating the trading decisions to reach commercial targets
  • Through your wide scope, you will work closely with a wide range of stakeholders and functions, and gain a comprehensive understanding of the commercial trading and planning ecosystem for a major fast-growing e-commerce player
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • MBA or Master in economics, finance, engineering, statistics, management or comparable qualification. You have gained 3-5 years of work experience in consumer-oriented commercial, financial or highly analytical role
  • You are a strategic commercial thinker with impressive analytical skills. You have strong technical skills in Excel and PowerPoint; Knowledge of programming languages such as SQL, Python or R is a strong plus
  • You are an outstanding project manager and you excel in dealing with different stakeholders from diverse background and levels
  • You have a good understanding of the commercial and financial environment of an e-commerce company/ retailing environment. P&L understanding is considered as a plus
  • You have great communication skills and you are able to drive projects with different teams across the organization.
  • You are business-fluent in English
