The Head of Paid Media drives the overall strategy to media execution across all offline and online touchpoints across our 23 Markets. You will be responsible for providing the expertise needed for the overall and the market-specific media and investment strategy; as well as media planning elevation. As we expand further into new Markets you will be focussed on delivering the best and most efficient media plans to get Zalando to the position of The Starting Point of Fashion locally. You are doing so in collaborating strongly with our local Market and Marketing teams, our Traffic team and the Global Marketing team amongst others. You are responsible to make Zalando's offerings and the Zalando app more front-of-mind for consumers, driving them to become customers, and driving our customers to come back often and whenever they think of fashion. Success lies in driving consumer engagement, traffic to site and daily active users.

  • Lead the Media Strategy and Media Planning processes for the business across all our Markets and paid media channels; both online and offline. Have ultimate responsibility for the execution of our Zalando campaigns and communications with operational excellence and relentless pursuit of performance.
  • Partner with Market leads in developing key strategic approach & paid channel selection that creates local relevance. Partner with Personalized Marketing to drive efficiencies through the funnel. Work collaboratively across functions such as Markets, Personalised Marketing, Analytics, Social Media and Marketing to build strategies to improve the effectiveness of multichannel media programs
  • Develop holistic media planning processes to personalize the consumer experience enabling customer data to generate efficiencies in all media channel executions.Enable holistic cross-channel strategies and activation plans of our communications.
  • You lead a team of 12 who are driving continuous learning, efficiency and innovation. This role will drive thought leadership on campaign strategies, audience segmentation, data driven media plans, and will apply industry-leading technologies to deliver optimal program performance.
  • Focus on the standardization of media services and capabilities, resource optimization initiatives, internal auditing, resource management and service integrationSets standards on new optimization tools/techniques and drives integration internally, ensure highest standards are met and that business execution remains best in class.

  • You bring 10+ years of progressive levels of responsibility in media planning, buying, leadership and management. Ideally you have been in a media leadership role for a consumer (digital) brand with deep experiences.
  • Proven track record in developing and executing media strategies and deep expertise in reaching and engaging user/audience segments through a targeted strategy. Passionate about analysis, results and efficiency. Experienced in applying latest insights, data-analysis and KPIs to sharpen content and media strategies to drive reach, engagement and conversion. Strategic commercial and marketing mind, able to translate customer insights into a commercial opportunity.
  • You are able and familiar to manage multiple stakeholders effectively (locally and globally) and are reliable when it comes to getting things done. You are a great team leader, capable of bringing a larger audience with you on the strategic journey you will create to optimise your media initiatives and generate brand love locally. You have experience in getting things done in complex organizational environments.
  • You are getting things done in a fast-paced ongoingly changing environment. You are a highly reliable business partner, passionate about your work and able to choose the right battles. You embrace and drive change and are always on the hunt for solutions and improvements.
  • You have excellent English skills, and are able to communicate clearly with various stakeholders, able to bring people with you and to drive alignment.
