Job Description

The Business of Fashion is seeking a Project Manager to plan, develop and execute essential projects aimed at scaling our business in line with our big ambitions. Reporting to the Head of Studio, the Project Manager will use their high level of organisation and outstanding interpersonal skills to deliver exceptional projects across the creative Studio and the wider business.

What we need you to do

In the first instance, the Project Manager will focus on two areas: creative projects within Studio and internal strategic projects under Belong, our Diversity, Inclusion and Equity platform. For both, you must be able to create and follow clear project plans, manage multiple stakeholders, prioritise workload and handle budgets. Moreover, as a key connector between various parts of the business, you must be a clear thinker, an articulate communicator and a dynamic problem-solver. The Project Manager is expected to be an adaptable individual who can take on other projects should time allow and be open to a flexible and changing workload. 

Studio creative projects

The Studio team strategise and produce BoF events, podcasts, video, marketing communications, and branded content with paying partners. The second half of the year is our busiest time and the Project Manager will facilitate the smooth running of various projects, with a focus on Partnership briefs.

  • Assessing briefs in the early stages to ensure a first-class brief can be agreed and delivered to the creative teams
  • Fully scoping briefs to ensure they can be effectively resourced and meet profitability targets
  • Preparing detailed workplans and timelines
  • Proactively managing all stakeholder communications, particularly the Partnerships team and Client Management function
  • Collaborating across teams to collect relevant information and assets, working extremely closely with creative teams and briefing teams to ensure the smoothest project delivery
  • Preparing and finalising project documentation 
  • Planning and optimising resource with the other Project Managers and the Head of Studio
  • Creating and managing budgets
  • Reporting status updates to Head of Studio, the rest of the Studio team and wider business
  • Ensuring all Studio processes are followed (file naming, archiving), and developing new processes and efficiencies where necessary

Strategic projects under Belong, our Diversity, Inclusion and Equity platform

In addition to the points above, we would also like for you to;

  • Support the delivery of our internal Belong initiatives, with a focus on embedding diversity, inclusion and equity best practices in our ways of working
  • Fully scoping Belong projects to ensure they can be effectively resourced and meet internal commitments
  • Preparing detailed work plans and timelines
  • Proactively managing all stakeholder communications, particularly the Belong Employee Networks, DEI Leaders and Senior Leadership.
  • Collaborating across teams to collect relevant information to enable of cross functional and intersectional projects and events to ensure the smoothest project delivery
  • Preparing and finalising project documentation 
  • Creating and managing budgets
  • Reporting status updates to Head of People, the rest of the People team and Belong Network Chairs and the wider business

With a meticulous eye for detail, you are known for your outstanding communication skills and unflappable demeanour. Bringing order to chaos and complexity, you get out of bed each morning knowing the work you do helps to remove barriers for colleagues and ensures business-critical projects are delivered on time, within budget and with glowing reviews from stakeholders. You should demonstrate; 

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills to influence and organise multi-level and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Remain calm and professional in a fast-moving environment, while maintaining a positive and proactive attitude 
  • Focus on problem solving at all times, fostering great relationships around the business to enable swift resolutions
  • Knowledge of and sensitivity to various creative processes including written content creation, graphic design, event management
