POSITION OBJECTIVE:

This position is a key member of the Product Leadership team at Chico's FAS, who will help bring big-picture ideas to life. Serving as both player and coach, mentoring top talent, and collaborating with business stakeholders within the team and across Chico's suite of brands to rapidly define, design and launch customer-led omni-channel shopping experiences.

Must have a passion for designing customer experiences that are informed by customer research and testing, and industry best practices. Skilled at design-thinking and have a demonstrated track record of creating value by designing innovative, best-in-class interactive experiences. A robust knowledge of retail industry trends, an understanding of the omnichannel vendor landscape and UX research methods to drive engagement, brand loyalty and revenue is critical to success in this role. Must be able to work seamlessly with business, product and engineering teams to execute our product and design roadmap.

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Leads discovery and exploration of new strategic opportunities and collaborate cross-functionally to define a holistic end-to-end user experience.
  • Anticipates evolving customer needs and how the organization can address them with current or new products/services.
  • Facilitates workshops and design sprints with project teams and stakeholders to explore problem spaces, identify new opportunities, and create alignment.
  • Partners with brand, engineering and product management to build and leverage a reusable design system to accelerate scalability, establish digital standards (quality), and improve speed to market.
  • Leads efforts to help the organization transform by adopting design thinking to rapidly produce innovative concepts that inspire, motivate, and delight our customers.
  • Keeps track of competitive industry trends and shift UX standards at the right time
  • Produces high quality UX communication & support documentation including information architecture, taxonomies, wireframes and interaction models and workflows.
  • Ensures consistency and best-practice design within and across digital properties for all brands.
  • Encourages your team to take risks, think creatively, and design innovative products in a fast-paced, data-driven environment.
  • Ensures your team delivers timely, high-quality work to meet key milestones and releases.
  • Provides leadership and career mentorship to a talented team of designers, engineers, product leaders and researchers - those on your team and those from collaborating orgs.
  • Actively involved in the design community through industry events, publishing articles, social media, etc. representing the Chico's FAS brand.
  • Values individuality and the diverse talents of their team. Leads the team by communicatingexpectations, providing guidance, delivering feedback, and empowering the team to be their best.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree required with emphasis on interactive design, graphic design or communications preferred
  • 8-10 years relevant experience.
  • Successfully executes on strategic decisions in the areas of visual design, user experience and interaction, information architecture, design research, data and analysis.
  • Crafted highly effective strategic plans of action and led them to completion. You have experience taking into consideration and solving for any changes and challenges that may occur throughout the entire process from design conception to product release.
  • Experience successfully building product enhancements within an existing software architecture, but also know how to envision future improvements to both product and architecture and lead teams to realize it.
  • Experience in usability testing & A/B testing.
  • Proficient at Sketch or Figma , Adobe Creative Suite, prototyping tools, and diagramming tools.
  • Experienced in designing within an agile product development environment using modern design software tools, methods, and processes.
  • Experience recruiting, mentoring and retaining top design and user experience talent by creating a thriving culture.
  • Ability to develop prototypes a major plus
  • Fashion experience a major plus
