About the role

As an HR Area Manager, you are responsible for all people decisions made within your assigned stores. You are responsible for storytelling through data and analysis to provide solutions. You lead and inspire the people first employee value proposition and build the capabilities to ensure the sustainability of the field organization. You ensure we have the right, stable talent to drive results in a global Omni-channel operating model. To be successful, this role must support day-to-day consultative relationships with business leaders and their respective teams and act as a trusted coach, counselor and influencer on business and talent related issues and opportunities.

What you'll do

  • Provide leadership and management coaching at all levels in the stores; assess appropriate development solutions/intervention strategies for talent needs within function, including individual, team and bench development.
  • Provide strategic thought leadership and planning on talent and district impacts of business plans and decisions.
  • Grow people's capabilities to build a talent pipeline for your District, Region, Territory, and the Brand.
  • Coach for leadership accountability and excellence.
  • Act as a resource and thought partner on people related matters to ensure fair and consistent interpretation and application of company and HR policies and procedures.
  • Lead Talent Ambassador program for your assigned area.
  • Lead a culture of community in your stores to drive engagement and build connections amongst the teams.


Who you are

  • Demonstrated ability to continually embrace challenges, take risks, learn fast and welcome change.
  • Demonstrated ability to actively learn and immediately apply learnings into decisions and behaviors.
  • Sound understanding of retail industry and marketplace; able to effectively implement people strategy within the broader business and industry context.
  • Influence- Strong observation & influencing skills to provide leaders with candid observations; Able to build trusting partnerships and influence leaders at all levels to clearly understand their roles, business impacts & needs.
  • Drive for Results - Can be counted on to exceed goals successfully; steadfastly pushes self and others for results.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of broad leader portfolio talent experience; college degree preferred; retail experience preferred.
  • High level comfort of HR disciplines (talent, employee relations, compensation, employment law (state specific) and operations).
  • Flexible to work days, nights, weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the business.
  • Ability to travel overnight occasionally
