ALIX  NYC is seeking a strong candidate to manage the production department for our contemporary Womenswear clothing from start to finish. The Production Manager will work closely with design, product development, and planning, to manage all aspects of production and support our continued rapid growth.



  • Manage and oversee the whole production process, from purchase orders to delivery to our distribution centers.
  • Work closely with manufacturers, manage production timelines
  • Create and maintain weekly updates and reporting on our production tracking chart and WIPs
  • Ensure all Purchase orders are delivered to and from the vendor on the date agreed
  • Troubleshoot production issues and provide solutions to maintain high levels of product quality
  • Serve as primary contact for all production vendors
  • Maintain relationships with key production partners to ensure long-term supply chain stability
  • Negotiate garment pricing/delivery and factory allocation
  • Maintain on-time delivery schedule and communicate internally about any deviations
  • Manage costing process, analysis of margins and vendor negotiations
  • Ensure that costing and margin targets are met across the department each season from development to production
  • Review all factory quotes for accuracy on fabric yield, fabric costs, trim costs, etc.
  • Inputting product data and continuous updates in internal system - RLM
  • Ongoing assessment of existing suppliers base and sourcing of new suppliers that offer competitive pricing, good quality product in line with margin requirements and order volumes
  • Ordering and managing production fabric & trims
  • Monthly reporting on fabric and trim inventory
  • Work closely with PD team to resolve major approval issues to maintain cost and calendar deadlines
  • Manage, coordinate and lead production fitting process to ensure on time approvals
  • Manage and record all final tech specs and approved patterns
  • Final check and approval of fabrics before going into production
  • Develop a deep knowledge of our product and quality standards in order to lead and contribute to our fabric related quality control process
  • Ensure all admin, invoices & reporting are kept up to date


  • The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years’ experience managing both domestic and import production
  • Knowledge of production: production integrity, production cycle times, fabric and garment construction, quality control and manufacturing operations
  • Outstanding project management, problem solving, and negotiating skills
  • Organized with incredible attention to deal
  • Strong sense of ownership with a drive and determination to get things done
  • Positive and entrepreneurial attitude; proactive, self-motivated, and deadline focused
  • Excellent interpersonal skills supporting a team environment
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel, RLM
