About the Role

In this role you’ll transform a wealth of raw data into actionable insights, empowering all areas of our business to make the right decisions. You acquire data from a variety of sources, transform it for use, interpret results, and partner with teams across the company to unlock the data and insights they need to make the best decisions.

Responsibilities

    • Write queries to extract data from various databases/data warehouses for analysis, set up ETLs to ready data for efficient access
    • Understand and document underlying data from multiple sources
    • Partner with the engineering team and external partners to assure efficient data housing, transformation and querying (AWS, SQL)
    • Partner with merchandising, marketing, finance, and ops teams to understand their data needs, make recommendations and deliver self services reports and dashboards
    • Help drive requirements for site event data, QA events and resulting data; leverage site event data to generate insights for product, site merchandising, marketing and engineering teams
    • Help connect data to automation tools for live consumption (marketing, site automation and personalization)
    • Own data consumed by internal business stakeholders across the company from a quality and performance perspective


Requirements

    • Detail oriented, self starter
    • Adept at query writing, strong knowledge of and experience with mySQL a must
    • Skilled at processing, cleansing, and verifying the integrity of data used for analysis; technical familiarity with data models and database design development
    • Experience with BI tools (experience with Mode Analytics, Grow or Looker a plus); Highly proficient in Excel
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize and analyze large amounts of data; experience with ad-hoc analysis and presenting results in a clear manner
    • Familiarity with common statistical models, experience with R or python a plus
    • BS in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics
