The Associate Director, Copy will be responsible for driving the voice of COSTA BRAZIL in every channel for a cohesive 360 brand experience. You will deliver compelling copy that is distinct, elegant, and drives engagement and conversion across every brand touchpoint, including product, digital, as well as social in partnership with the Social Media Director. This includes a combination of evergreen social content to drive the brand, and specific program-driven content to support launches and high traffic moments such as Holiday. This role will work in conceptual partnership with the VP, Marketing + Content and the Creative Director, to concept, develop and execute a range of work from PDPs to content series and social-first launch campaigns that demonstrate a deft understanding of channel best practices while aligning to brand tone of voice and style. The right candidate will have strong experience across social media, ecommerce and video, and be an excellent storyteller, able to truly absorb and respond to a brief and craft a narrative from it.

Responsibilities:

    • Partner with VP, Global Marketing & Content on developing overall voice and execution; implement and influence the Costa Brazil brand tone/voice across all channels and write engaging copy that inspires and informs across all touch points of the brand.
    • Collaborate with marketing, creative, PR, brand, product development to craft copy that is emotional, on-brand, and drives conversion.
    • Approach Costa Brazil storytelling with creativity, curiosity, and taste, and serve the community by taking a wholly inclusive approach to wellness and beauty.
    • Develop intimate understanding of the consumer and category trends through competitive analysis, consumer research and ongoing monitoring of activity at retail.
    • Participate in meetings and creative reviews (as needed), examine various types of project briefs, paying close attention to marketing objectives and copy requests and iterations.
    • Execute clean, detail-oriented, on-brief copy for retail, digital and integrated marketing projects, including video scripts, email, social campaigns, website, and product.
    • Ideate on content development ideas.
    • Help curate up-and-coming talent (celebrities, artists, creatives, dermatologists, makeup artists, chemists, artists, designers, etc.) for paid and organic programming.
    • Infuse your content decisions with your affinity for beauty, art, culture, design, celebrity, music, travel, fashion, luxury, and wellness.
    • Identify trends, threats, and opportunities in content marketing surrounding our industry.


Deliverables:

    • A. All copy written with Costa Brazil's voice and identity.
    • B. Launch Campaigns: Contribute to concepts as well as ideas for creative talent, casting and partnership subjects; available for briefings/brainstorms as needed.
    • C. Emails: Concept and write copy for email newsletter (SLs, previews, body copy, CTAs) up to 3x/week cadence. Customer journey emails as needed.
    • D. Social: Write launch and campaign copy for IG Feed and Story posts planned by Social Media Director/Associate. (Always on social copy not included).
    • E. Site: Concept and write copy for launches and PDP/PLP informed by marketing and PD.
    • F. Editorials: Produce 2 monthly content franchises for Costa Community (e.g., Person of Interest, written for site, email, social; interviews/reporting conducted via email accepted).
    • G. Partner Content: Customize existing content treatments for retailers and partners such as Conservation International.
    • H. Marketing Materials: 1 project per month (e.g., revised brand deck), as timing permits. Consumer-facing copy is priority.


Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in journalism, English, literature, media, fine art or related.
    • 8+ years of related work in beauty editorial, social media, advertising or related; luxury beauty, design, art, and/or wellness industry preferred; experience in creating content for all platforms.
    • Passion for skincare / wellness beauty industry; professional understanding of clean beauty, biotech, and conservation efforts.
    • Ability to use SEO and data analytics to inform and optimize brand narrative.
    • Embraces start-up dynamics and thrives wearing many hats while meeting objectives and working collaboratively.
    • Ability to identify the big ideas from the small ones and drive for results on the big ideas.
    • Creative self-starter; ability to navigate a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with style, humor and agility.
    • Curiosity, intellect and a passion for great ideas; ability to bring them to life is essential.
    • Experience working with marketing teams and demonstrated flexibility in management of creative execution needs, an ability to positively respond to critique and feedback.
