The Commerce Strategy Team works on clients' briefs and unspoken needs, by finding proper data sources and strategic frameworks. Based on expertise and marketplace data the team works on crafting recommendations for the e-commerce presence of our partner brands across related touchpoints and tools. This team are experts on both, the shopper's path to purchase and Zalando's algorithm on sorting and ranking, and they ideate to connect trends in local markets to available opportunities on our platform.

This team partners up with the Branding & Performance Strategy team to translate client challenges into Zalando marketplace opportunities, and works in close collaboration with our MAC/BI team and Consumer Insights teams to unlock new retail opportunities across Zalando markets and categories.
  • Extract insight from brand account, category and market data to identify relevant trends, and provide well-developed, proactive recommendations to enhance and exceed overall client goals and objectives
  • Review / plan product sales in accordance with client goals and provide guidance based on market and category level insights
  • Develop variant marketing strategies utilizing behavioral data captured from the Zalando marketplace to drive key behavioral metrics across markets and categories
  • Analyze weekly data and reporting metrics on target ZMS campaigns, providing insight and visualization into performance relative to market and category trends, and based on this data provide recommendations for success and optimization
  • Provide global digital retail best practices and insights about Zalando marketplace to key accounts
  • Responsible for identifying sales growth opportunities across Zalando markets and categories and participating in negotiations to close strategic opportunities
  • Minimum 5 year previous hands-on experience in crafting data-based retail strategies
  • A highly analytical, structured thinker who can work with complex data sets, drive insights, and clearly communicate findings to a diverse set of stakeholders
  • Extensive knowledge of e-commerce metrics and know how to influence them
  • Excellent presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively in written and oral communications
  • Excellent organizational skills and proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Knowledge of strategic frameworks and the ability to adjust them to the problem at hand
  • Knowledge of consumer and shopper research goals and methodologies
