JOB PURPOSE

To assist in the delivery of the Trade Compliance Strategy and ensure day to day compliance with cross border requirements

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as the Trade Compliance point of contact for multiple manufacturing sites in the UK and Italian manufacturing sites to support the compliant movement of product.
  • Spain acting liaison to facilitate imports/exports including government tax site controls and declarations.
  • EU Provide country specific guidance on additional import requirements for stock and non stock products.
  • Provide support on internal projects where input or involvement from Trade Compliance is required.
  • UK provide assistance to the UK Customs warehousing project on entry best practice and controls.
  • Product Classification - Accurately classify products to the EU and UK HS code for all product areas within the business. Additionally, provide guidance on global HS codes as needed.
  • Help support the team operationally, including UK and EU import advice, clearance instructions to third party brokers and forwarders, ad-hoc business inquiries, non-stock shipments, and general business guidance.


PERSONAL PROFILE

  • Good academic qualifications
  • Good standard of Spanish language
  • Experience working in Customs/Trade Compliance
  • In depth understanding of EU and new UK Customs regulations
  • Proficient understanding of international trade, import duties, commodity codes, incoterms, preference and valuation
  • Basic use of SAP preferred
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • Good standard of English
  • Ability to work in a team as well as being confident to work independently
  • Strong communication skills, particularly with commercial functions
  • Demonstrates initiative and drive to meet deadlines and work in an ambiguous environment
