About the role

Yeezy Gap is looking for a versatile, self-driven, full-time Manager of Fabric R&D to join the team. The Manager of Fabric R&D will help bring the Yeezy Gap brand to life by utilizing strong fabric knowledge & understanding of materials to execute the Yeezy Gap vision. Our ideal candidate is a textile expert, with a fabric first mentality and strategy throughout the product-to-market process.

What you'll do


  • Manage all fabric categories for Yeezy Gap.


  • Have a strong fabric knowledge and understanding of wash- focus on knits, wovens and denim.


  • Work closely with design to bring their vision to life by understanding design intent and fabric direction and oversee commincation from design for fabric approvals for the proper fabric hand, construction and finish.


  • Build and develop strong mill relationships and manage all daily communication with mills from the development stage through sampling.


  • Work with the Gap International Sourcing Teams to ensure fabrics meet all testing, costing and execution requirements.


  • Responsible to build and maintain current fabric library in the Atelier.


  • Responsible for managing all sample yardage into and out of the Yeezy Gap Atiler.


  • Manage any testing concerns directly with the mills; troubleshoot to solve and recommend options to have production ready fabrics.


  • Manages others.



Who you are


  • Bachelor's degree in Textiles, 7+ years of experience in woven fabric research and development, product engineering or related field.


  • Fabric mill experience is essential.


  • Ability to sustain professional demeanor despite unscheduled work, revisions and short timelines.


  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across geographies in a matrixed environment where speed and cultural sensitivity is crucial.


  • Strong aesthetic intelligence with a passion for style and fashion that illustrates a balanced understanding of Gap and Yeezy brands.


  • Ability to manage competing priorities while consistently meeting deadlines.


  • Ability to establish and maintain strong cross-functional relationships and to network, influence and leverage internal and external resources.


  • Superior drive for results and proven ability to proactivelymove projects through to completion.
