Job Details

As a Copywriter, you are one of our word experts within the Zalon Marketing Team and the guardian of the local brand language in our German speaking markets. You advise your team on the tone of voice and are responsible for the wording of campaigns across all the digital and offline marketing channels. You also support our product teams by writing UX copy in English and localising copy for our German markets.
WHERE YOUR EXPERTISE IS NEEDED
  • Advocate and develop the local tone of voice as the local language expert and interpret copywriting briefs to ensure balance between global guidelines and local language.
  • Write clear, advice-focused copy with a distinct voice and edit and proofread copy as needed. Maintain a consistent tone of voice across all touchpoints.
  • Manage incoming requests for copywriting and localisation from different teams, supporting them linguistically. Adapting to different stakeholder needs in your language.
  • Improve processes and provide solutions to problems in the trans-creation process (e.g., not only flagging copy that doesn't work locally, but presenting a valid alternative).
  • Work together with our product teams to create a smooth and convenient user journey and potentially write UX copy in English.
  • Help turn Zalando into a platform that is all about customisation and personalisation, combining technology with written, visual and interactive content to build a differentiating brand with a strong character. Set the standards for how we delight customers with written communication.
  • Improve processes and develop ideas to optimize our product.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • You have around 3+ years experience as a copywriter or content writer. Experience with UX writing is a plus.
  • A degree in communication, linguistics, journalism or a related field.
  • You are fluent in spoken and written German, and have flawless German writing skills. You are able to communicate clearly in English (both verbally and written).
  • You are able to familiarize yourself with new tools quickly.
  • You have an interest in fashion. Any kind of fashion expertise is a plus.
  • Highly creative and good organization is one of your biggest strengths; you are proactive and communicate clearly, and can work with tight deadlines in a dynamic environment. You feel responsible for the quality of your work and you are always happy to support your team in their development.
