Our Workspace Operations team works together to make the daily operations at Shopify a smooth and efficient experience for all of our Shopifolk. We are looking for a Physical Security Coordinator to join our security team in Atlanta, Georgia.

As a Physical Security Coordinator, working under our Physical Security Lead, you will support the development and implementation of the security program in our facilities. The security program aims at protecting people, products, and information at each site and in the supply chain. That means driving the security program and creating a culture where security is at the forefront.

Some of your responsibilities will include:
  • Act as the primary point of contact onsite for security, working closely with facility management, contractors, or vendors to resolve issues as they arise
  • Aiding in the completion of risk assessments for the site, operational models, and supporting associated risk mitigation measures.
  • Contributing to projects, working closely with other stakeholders to ensure the smooth deployment of safety & security systems throughout the site
  • Collaborating with internal teams to ensure project milestones and timelines are met.
  • Overseeing physical security of the site through a combination of security guard services, electronic security systems, physical security hardware, and Physical Security systems.
  • Effectively manage the contracted security guard services on site:
    • Work closely with the contracted security site supervisor to ensure guards are trained & following SOPs as laid out
    • Track & action incident reports completed by the guards to ensure the required follow up is being done as required
    • As needs of the site change, make recommendations on how best to adjust the guard services & their SOPs to continue to maximize their use
  • Support and participate in onsite investigations as it relates to facilities security, identify root cause, write follow-up reports and support management action plans for security improvements.
  • In collaboration with our technology team, help conduct preventive testing and maintenance of safety and security systems.


Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4 years of corporate security experience.
  • Experience with warehouse or distribution center services.
  • Experience working in and supporting guard services
  • Excellent knowledge of the implementation of best practices related to the utilization of physical security systems and distribution center loss mitigation techniques.
  • Experience handling workplace violence situations.
  • Experience conducting investigations
  • Experience in managing stakeholders and vendors.
  • Ability to travel internationally and domestically as required.
  • Proven ability to effectively, thoughtfully, and persuasively communicate plans and proposals to influence facility site leaders and other key departments within the organization.

Bonus experience:
  • APP/PCI or other relevant industry certifications
  • Knowledgeable in CPTED design principles
  • Experience with Physical Security Systems & associated technology
  • Security systems troubleshooting
  • Experience with G Suite
