Having an in-depth knowledge of visual merchandising, the Area Visual Manager will be responsible for managing the consistency and quality of visual execution in all stores within their assigned area to positively impact the customers’ experience and drive sales. This role works cross collaboratively with the Merchandising team to ensure key investments are considered when arranging products in stores and with the Planning team to support inventory management. Additionally, travel is required to provide hands-on support to stores within the assigned area and to assist with new store openings. The Area Visual Manager will report directly to the Director of Visual Merchandising.

 

Responsible for: You will partner with the Regional and Area Leaders on seasonal merchandising initiatives, expectations and to identify store support needs in order to create a more consistent brand experience. You will also work with store teams to improve top line financial and KPI results through visual merchandising while helping to resolve store specific challenges that require merchandising adaptations including store size, store type, volume, spatial constraints and inventory levels.

 

General Responsibilities:

  • Create a consistent brand experience within area stores by building accountability among field and store teams using current visual merchandising tools
  • Travel weekly and assess opportunities in stores; reinforce brand best practices and identify and react to opportunities to increase productivity
  • Ability to balance critical reporting along with brand aesthetic to influence actions to improve customer experience and overall business results
  • Effectively lead field leadership and store teams through change as visual merchandising strategies evolve
  • Motivate and inspire teams by setting clear expectations, providing timely feedback and recognizing successes along the way
  • Identify, coach and develop store talent to enhance visual merchandising skills in order to improve sales results
  • Ability to facilitate and participate in store calls/ meetings to engage teams on continuous learning that supports visual merchandising strategies and brand standards
  • Manage all aspects of seasonal floorsets within assigned area
  • Support fixture rollout processes
  • Support new store openings
  • Share industry best practices and benchmarking ideas
  • Build ongoing knowledge of current trends to remain relevant within the industry
  • Build partnerships and works collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives
  • All other duties based on business needs

 

 

Must have qualifications include:

 

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in Visual Merchandising
  • Minimum of 3 years of multi-store retail management experience
  • Visual Merchandising and Presentation skills including the ability to interpret brand direction for unique store spaces
  • Working knowledge of computer programs (or similar) - Excel, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat
  • Ability to work closely with a variety of people in various disciplines
  • Superior organizational and analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Superior leadership skills
  • Ability to work independently and lead a team
  • Ability to plan, prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently and effectively
  • Proven ability to ideate and problem solve
  • Ability to travel as needed for store visits and new store openings
  • Ability to work in a very fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Approximately 70% travel required
