We are an award-winning full service in-house Legal, Ethics and Compliance function. We're based in the UK, Russia, Portugal, China, Italy, UAE and the US. We provide leadership and advice on strategic projects across all business units, whilst developing our role as an integrated partner within the business to make sure FARFETCH goes from strength to strength.

THE ROLE

We are hiring a legal counsel to join the Legal, Ethics and Compliance team. This role will be ideal for a recent qualified lawyer or someone who is close to end their internship and who wants to embrace an in-house career in a fast-paced, tech oriented company, and is passionate about technology and privacy matters worldwide.

You will work closely with our senior legal counsel in different issues, focused Labour and commercial contract, delivering high-quality legal advice and services across all teams of the business, focused on helping achieve our targets, while promoting overall compliance with legal and Group Policy requirements.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

    • Draft employment contract templates, and other labour documentation;
    • Assist in the drafting of disciplinary procedures and responses to employment regulators.
    • Work together with the Senior Legal Counsel in the development implementation and review of legal processes within the People Team and Office Management areas;
    • Provide legal support in a wide range of legal topics, with a particular focus on labour matters;
    • Monitor specific local and EU laws, guidelines and court rulings regarding the areas more critical for the business;
    • Review, analyse, negotiate and draft a wide variety of commercial agreements, with a special focus on People Team, Office Management and Agency Models related services;
    • Support on answering to day-a-day company queries relating to employment, agency models and office management, which may include the analysis of legislation and case law as needed.
    • Maintain an updated database of contract templates and ensure, when needed, the digital and physical archiving of contracts and other legal documentation;


WHO YOU ARE

    • A recent-qualified lawyer up to 1 year PQE (professional experience after internship), or in the verge of concluding the internship;
    • Have a strong academic background on Private Law and keen interest into working and developing expertise in employment law.
    • Any specialization or post-graduate course in Employment Law will be a plus;
    • Have an excellent level of English, both written and spoken.
    • Possess excellent communication, negotiating and drafting skills
    • Have a strong work ethic and attention to detail
    • Be passionate about fast moving consumer-led businesses
    • Be a team player who is driven, forward thinking, robust, innovative and agile, with commercial acumen
    • Be willing to help building a corporate culture and available to work with various stakeholders of the business, being able to process, analyze and explain in a simple manner your legal advice;
    • Flexibility to travel, mainly between the locations of Farfetch offices in Portugal.
